The thing is why doesn't he talk tough to the bigger players in this league? Duncan has been abusing him for years. Why didn't he layout Duncan when he was going off on him in previous years?
I see no problem with playing hard against your opponent, it is just dumb to announce it to the world that you are going to take a player out.. BigC's Knick blogs and Knicks

My problem is why doesn't Dirk say this? He is the captain on the team. He should be vocal about it and take the lead. Barkley has been saying it for years that teams follow their leader's lead and Dirk's softness has infected the whole team.

Posted by BigC: The whole thing is sports specific. It's encouraged in hockey and football, but definitely not basketball. Elbows and knee play always made their way into the competitive leagues I played in growing up, but it was always on the sly, and always for purposes of getting under the other dude's skin... not to posture as a tough dude. I think this a major NBA problem... very few dudes are actually tough. Most are posturing primadonnas DLeethal wrote:

Posted by SupremeCommander:Posted by BigC:Great point. Even in baseball there would be big fights with players and sometimes even the managers would jump in the brawls. In basketball even the leaders of teams would play Mr. Softy. I remember when Danny Fairy slapped Michael Jordan. When Jordan got slapped he was pretending like he wanted to fight once his teammates were there to break it up. BigC's Knick blogs and Knicks

That Oakley thread keeps rearing its ugly head. Damps sucks as a player, but there is nothing wrong with what he said. What he's doing is playing mental warfare with Parker. Distract his thoughts and attempt to intimidate him. Every time he goes to the hole, in the back of his mind he's going to think about getting his snot box rocked. Its a mind fluck. This is the type of stuff you do in the playoffs.
A Jedi Mind trick...you can hit him without actually hitting him. My saliva and spit can split thread into fiber and bits/ So trust me I'm as live as it gets.

I dont know if it is a Jedi mind trick because Dampier couldn't be a Jedi in a million life times, he just doesn't have what it takes to be a Jedi. Do you know how talented and special Jedi are? Do you know that you have to be born with that talent? Common sebstar. Please don't compare Dampier to a Jedi.
