To me it's simple

the first three options up top

1.win the lottery take griffin

2a win 2nd or 3 in the lottery and take Evans. If we do not get those spots try hard as hll to move up to get him--

2b if all efforts fail to get Evans do the same with Derozan

I really believe that one of the second options CAN happen and will really benefit the team

Lastly after these two moves I would try hard as hell to buy a pick or two or use any remaining assets to get Mullens .

My only goal is to get 1 of the three players above and Mullens That is my plan A-B-C after that there has to be multiple strategies including looking at trading the pick for EXISTING NBA players like Koufus in a multi asset trade.

LOL. That's the gameplan tonight around 8:00. But it subject to change in the next two hours, right?

Some draft gurus are saying that Evans could go in the 8-12 range. I don't know how that's possible, but we'll see as we get closer to the draft.

I can't really blame you on this Briggs. This is a hard draft to figure. I have several guys that I think go top 5 but then I flip it as soon as I make my list.

Besides Griffin, if Rubio puts his name in the draft like he wants would your order change?

Is that your top 3 for the Knicks or what you think the draft order will be?

Not really. If Jamal went to the basket like Evans then he'd still be in Chicago and would be the key player to the franchise.

Evans is listes at 6-6, he's probably 6-4, but the point is the dude's big for a pg and can defend well. I think he can do what Marty did for that magical 5 game run, but you know, do it every game.

I'll trust MikeD to know if he can really run the point or not. If he doesn't think its within him to run the offense, then we'll have some assortment of Jennings/Teague/Maynor there to choose from.

Briggs loves Euros! The closest thing to a Euro Briggs ever endorsed was Bogut and as a #1 pick he's a flop.

Tyreke Evans is a good fit for a MDA team.

Reason many have him 9-12 is
He sucks from 3
Takes a lot of bad shots
Looks for his own scoring first (cough, Marbury, cough)
Is more like 6'3 180
Might be good enough to be the next Larry Hughes

If you only focus on a player's upside everyone should be a top 3 pick

Whoever has him 9-12 is wrong. My bet is the Knicks would take him very high. His physical package size athletic ability wingspan is so far superior to Ricky Rubio that iys not worth answering. Ricky Rubio is skinny not very athletic doesnt have a great shot really is 6-2 6-3 maybe 170. I really don't know how he will translate in the nBA but sure as hll I dont want to find out with the Knicks. We could not take that chance again. Tyreke Evans can play lead guard at 6-6 220 and he will be a franchise type player.

The Knicks would take Rubio over DeRozan or Evans, IMHO, and if we somehow get the #1 pick with Rubio in the draft we would trade our pick to drop down a slot if we could parlay Griffin for Rubio and an extra #1 in this year's draft or next year's.

I have to think that MDA would be having wet dreams about Ricky if he realized we had a chance to pick him.

I don't know how any of us can really get a serious read on what Jennings or Rubio are or can be. I've looked for extended videos of Jennings, but there isn't much out there to see.

If we landed at the two or three slot and Rubio were there, I have a hard time imagining Euro lover MikeD passing him by. He's seen him in person. No other head coach has. He's supposed to be a leader and was defensive player of the year in his league so he'd seem to be a fit.

Donnie Walsh is headed over to Europe to watch the final 8 playoffs, but neither Jennings or Rubio are in the playoffs.

Agreed.

I cant see Rubio getting passed up if he's available for us to take. Even if there is a good chance that Steve Nash will be coming in the next season or two, this system needs the right PG to make it work. MDA would take Rubio in a heartbeat.
