hey just to mention it but if this guy's back hadn't given out he would have been one of the all-time greats. and i mean all-time. pre-injury he was a commbo of elgin baylor, gus johnson and charles barkley.

he was also a groundbreaking player in terms of marketing and a hero for the players union. the guy got a $72 mil deal which was unheard of at the time...

knicks always get the damaged goods. Still he has one of the sslickest post games of all time...not being able to jump just really let that game shine through.

I love how he'd stick it to punks like PJ Brown or Antonio Davis in the post bad back and all

Is it wrong that the first thing I noticed about LJ were the overly-white teeth? Didn't he rock a gold one before?

I considered him the most important player on the team besides Ewing.

That interview with Jill Martin really made me smile yet made me sad b/c I miss those Knicks.

Ewing, LJ, Houston, Sprewell, Camby, Ward, Childs, Kurt Thomas, Oakley, John Starks, even Chris Dudley and EVEN Buck Williams! I loved all of those guys.

Man, LJ is a TRUE Knick. So ridiculous that he hasn't been back.

Sure, his shot used to get blocked all of the time down low, but the man was the heart and soul of the team as a leader.

I totally agree, pre-injury he was a BEAST. He used to light Oakley up every time against us with 30+.

Reality is we may have not gotten him if he had hurt himself, but the man played broken down for years and still was able to be a serious contributor.

I still love when he told Bill Walton that the '99 Knicks were "rebellious slaves."

I saw him and Marcus say what's up after the game against the Clippers too.

Man, he should be around more...he's got a fun personality that you can see.

He was a true knick. Bad back and overpaid!

But, he played hurt and played hard!

Those were the days! We are quite fond of them even though we were frustrated by them and always had the drama of Ewing and his threats to leave.

They were cool, and they had their chances.
