what i don't understand is why people even care what sexual orientation these athletes are... it happened w/Mike Piazza a few years back too... what the hell business is it of any of ours how these players choose to live their personal lives outside of the field of play as long as it's not hurting anyone else? why do people feel the self serving right to sit & judge these public figures w/that self righteous soap box preaching mentality & put these guys on blast for something like this as if they'd comitted some kinda crime to be the object of scorn over? people like Selena Roberts make me sick to my stomach profitting off dishing the dirt about the personal lives of others... freakin' tabloid journalism is all it is... she's a piece of shiet as far as i'm concerned, & it's really too bad no one gives enough of a crap about her waste of a human life to write a book about all the skeletons in her damn closet.

It's funny that people like Selena Roberts pretends to be a pillar of journalistic integrity when in reality they're no better than the people who work for Page Six of the Post or TMZ. Go after the scumbags who have put this country in the current situation that it finds itself in. People who have literally destroyed thousands of people's lives and affected millions. Why bother with an idiot ballplayer whose actions really only affect him.

As far as ARod goes, the guy has serious issues which I think stem from his being so pathetically and pathologically insecure, especially for something who has it all. But if he comes back a week early from his hip surgery, puts up great numbers and has a good postseason, guess what, he's a hero in Yankees fans eyes. He could be taking it up the ass on a parade float down Broadway and it wouldn't matter because they won and he performed well. Ok, maybe it would matter a little, but you get what I'm saying.

Having said all that, what the hell is up with his taste in women? He lives in NYC and Miami and he can't find a decent looking broad?!? His wife ain't bad but the others? WTF?

Is that for real? Wow. The Yankees have to get rid of this guy. I don't care how good he is. Not that him being gay prohibits him from being a Yankee, but a guy that disrupts the clubhouse to begin with, jeeze that's going to be tough to deal with for 9 years.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I have not liked this guy for years. I have even nicknamed him Gay-Rod because I always thought he was a little on the fruity side. I don't care who he bangs, male or female, he just isn't a guy I would want on my team for chemistry purposes. And when is this guy gonna come through in the clutch? I'll tell you when: never. Guys like Eli Manning have already come through numerous times. Some guys have what it takes to play here. Some guys don't. Alex Rodriguez does not.

i think arod is starting to embrace all this stuff. his pictorial was nuts...but ultimately i think, a good thing. he really has nothing to hide anymore. he's a freak (like rodman). he's admitted steroids...and after that, he still had his cousin drive him around and did that machismo pictorial. i think he's at the point where he doesn't care...and that means he will hit in clutch situations. at least i hope so...

sure...he just won 2 mvp's in the city. when was the last time a yankee won the mvp award?

eli manning came through numerous times? sounds like he came through 1 postseason.

arod carried the team into the postseason in 2007. ok, he didn't hit in the 4 game series vs. cle - but neither did anybody else. jeter bounced into 7 dp's.

the guy is only the best sstop in the bigs, won a few mvp's here AND, most importantly, banged madonna....what else do you want out of this guy?

i think this pubicity is good b/c it gets all his s*it out in the open so now he can focus on WINNING US A DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP....isnt that the only thing that matters anyway?

I tell you what. The lower bowl in Yankee Stadium is not a family place, its a place where testosterone/booze filled business men reside and they won't be shy about yelling anything and everything at ARod.

This is going to continue to implode until the guy goes into hiding.

That book comes out and says that he's gay... he's not going to be in any hurry to come back and play for the team and the Yanks will be forced to cut him before the start of the 2010 season.

cut him? they have like a qtr of a billion invested in him that pays out over 10yrs!
