Im going out on a limb and saying that the Knicks should pick Stephen Curry in the draft this season. He's shown that he knows how to win and can lead.

He'll fit into this system perfectly. He'll help spread defenses with his awesome shooting and range.

Dude's a 45.6% shooter against 2nd level competition and has struggled against the big programs.

Warren and Derozan both shoot better against better competition in their freshman years if you're looking for shooting guards.

We've discussed a dozen or so PG's in this draft if you're looking for that.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

How much of his low shooting percentage is a result of poor shot selection, as opposed to a lack of ability? I feel like on a team when he doesnt have to be the only capable scorer and can get more open looks from good ball movement (which D'Antoni's system should provide plenty of, if exercised properly) he can hit shots very consistently.

Plus I feel like he's shown promise to be groomed into a successful PG. Im not worried about his lack of athleticism, there are plenty of players who are not super athletes who have done very well in this league.

You'll know if we've totally thrown in the towel as a franchise if we sit tight at draft day, and select Curry.

We've been trying to put bigger, faster, two way players on the floor since the mid 90's. If we pick Curry, who will never put on more weight than Crawford, that's just a give up move.

How is he ever going to play D in the NBA?

I don't understand what we're supposed to envision this guy becoming.

Duke is too small, too soft, too unathletic... he's going to get ate up in the league. He's trying to play shooting guard?!?. Heh. They'll be waiting on his ass like them boys in San Quenton

Dude is also either double-teamed or has the defense shaded towards his area. No Curry isn't a pure point, but he has done a pretty good job this year leading a team full of division 2 players. Surround this kid with NBA talent and I think he will be a heck of a scorer/shooter with a pretty good Fg%. BTW, he's better than JJ Reddick so we can put those comparisons to rest.

Exactly. And if you were playing for Davidson and had two and three guys running at you all the time, how many assists would you rack up? More than five. The way teams guard him, he should be in double digits for assists. Don't tell me he can be a PG.

Last year was our charity case pick. No more of those. Let's pick a real NBA player this time.

Wow, you are harsh. The dude single-handedly took Davidson to the Elite 8 last year beating Gonzaga, Georgetown, Wisconsin (one of the best defensive teams year after year in college hoops) and losing to the eventual champ Kansas by 2.

In hit tournament run he shot 46% averaging 32pts/game.

I would not sell this kid short whatsoever. If Monta Ellis (they are the same height/weight) can play and play well in the NBA then so can Curry. Curry is just as athletic and is 10X the better shooter.

I'm not saying we should draft him no matter what. I'm just saying I would take a long look at him.

Monta's not a winner either.

I want the Knicks to get back to a Harper/Houston/Spree sized backcourt so we can play NYC style and manhandle some teams.

I'm tired of getting run over by LeBron, Wade, Kobe, Vince or anybody else who comes in here.

Well how do you draft a winner? The furthest Tim Duncan every got at Wake was the Sweet 16 and he was playing with other pros on his team. Chris Paul never got anywhere in the NCAA Tourney either. What defines a winner?

Is there a better definition of a winner than a guy who plays at very small school and carries his team of walk-ons to the Elite 8?

Cmon JW don't be dogging Curry.

I'm speaking to the kid's size more than his win/loss record. I'd say the same about Mills. At least he's built a little bit though.

We have the unique advantage with Curry of having seen his pops play in the league. He was tiny as a grown man. If you want yet another role player, go ahead and draft the dude. If you want to start really building something, I would say that's not the way to go.

DeRozan and Eric Maynor are my choices from the guard position.

I'm just sayin.. let this kid go through pre-camp workouts and see what GM's think about him. A kid with his scoring ability and grittyness doesn't come around every day is all I'm saying.

Dell Curry was a lot bigger, too. And no way is Curry as athletic as Monta.

You're right, Curry probably wouldn't be caught dead tearing up his ankle on a moped

How often are players like Monta and Kevin Martin even on the floor. Those are the guys who you hope he turns into, but he really doesn't have half their ability.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong someday, but I just don't buy it.

Gerry McNamara was triple teamed all the time too, but he isn't in the league. There's 40 guys I would take before Curry if it were up to me.
