Kiki Vandeweghe was on WFAN this morning and said that they were aware that Gallinari had an issue with his back BEFORE the draft. He was very diplomatic when talking about Gallinari. He said they didn't do extensive research on his back because they realized that Gallinari would be picked ahead of them.
If there's even a hint of truth that at least one team was aware of Gallinari's back being an issue, and there's no reason to think a gentleman like Vandeweghe would be looking to sandbag anybody, then that's just a huge bombshell. I can't even wrap my head around something that grossly incompetent and cavalier. The interview is on the http://www.wfan.com/ homepage. The Gallinari part was about a 1/3 of the way through. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
