What a joke.

Well hopefully he gets the proper treatment and gets to participate in a full offseason and come back strong next year.

D'Antoni wasn't playing him that much anyway.

Gallo's Done

The King Fixer is getting another much-needed day off, but there's big news here at practice today.

The Knicks are essentially shutting down rookie Danilo Gallinari because the Italian said he feels like his health has leveled off at about 60-70 percent and they are going to allow him to explore other treatment options so they can make sure he's able to get to 100 percent as quickly as possible.

Gallinari saw a specialist on Monday here in New York, bringing the number of doctors he's visited with to four. He's expected to fly to his native country sometime later today to seek more opinions from Italian back specialists and should be back by at least next Monday.

We'll get to speak with president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni about this news in a minute, so I'll be back to update Fixer Nation once we're done.

Not good. I'm not surprised, in spite of assurances from Isles and Pharze I knew he was not right. But this is not good.

He got treatment for a full 6 months before he started playing minimal minutes for only 28 games. His back couldn't handle that much. What makes you think that he'll be 100% in another 6 months when training camp starts, much less participate in a full offseason?

Instead of bitching and moaning, I'm hoping for the best. I said HOPEFULLY he can participate in a full offseason program. That's all we can do. Go ahead and call the kid whatever you want, but I'm hoping for the best. Sorry for doing that.

No no, the assurances were from that liar Mike D'Antoni. The coach who only gives lip service to doing what's right for his players.

it's actually good news. escalate the issue and deal with it. get a chance for effective treatment. it's pretty apparent that he was limited by the injury in what he could do on the court.

That's what I'm saying. We are not allowed to do this though Marv.

No, I agree with you. We should only judge a coach on what he says to the press. And Gallo should have never been allowed to play limited minutes to see how he responds, that's irresponsible.

The silver lining is that we don't have to extend him in 2010, giving us a little more cap room.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

No problem. I understand that all Knicks fans have at this point, for this kid not being damaged goods, is hope.

What were they doing from July to January?
