Homers and haters...without personal biases, can you predict the final sixteen games. Remember, its not just about the Knicks, the opposing teams are fighting for playoff positioning or to get in to the playoffs and some are just playing (which can be equally lethal because they have nothing to lose)

Some quick facts:

7 home games (18-16 home record)
9 road games (10-22 road record)

To end March, we play 5 of 6 at home
To start April, we have a 3 game road trip and play 5 of 6 on the road
The final leg of the schedule is 2 home, 2 road

Biggest obstacle (Ides of March)...the final home game of March versus NO followed by @ Cha, @ Utah, @ Denver

Two winnable games...vs LAC amd vs Sacramento (it will be very disappointing if they lose one of these games)

Significant games...vs NJ on Wed., @ Charlotte, @ Chicago, final game of regular season vs NJ (if team is still in it)

It's tough to predict because I feel that this team's success or demise will be predicated on what they did the game before.

The schedule is very tough, maybe tougher than anyone thinks.

My predictions:

vs Nets (W - Devin Harris is out)
vs Sac (W - season is all but done if they lose to this team)
@ Orl (L - too much size and perimeter shooting)
vs Orl (L - see above)
vs LAC (W - or does Zach get revenge - season all but done if they lose)
vs NO (L - CP3 is gonna want to get his shine on at MSG)
@ Charlotte (L - LB and friends know they have to win, we won there once already this year - tough for me to say we can do it again)
@ Utah (L - rough place to pull out a road win)
@ Denver (L - we never win @ Denver except on that crazy Jamal shot that Gus went nuts about)
vs Tor (W - gotta beat the Raps)
@ Tor (L - repeating history plus the early start is killer on a back to back and the Raps love the brunch-time games)
@ Chi (L - the Bullies are gunning for the 8th seed too)
vs Detroit(L - payback is a bitch)
@ Orlando (L - see all the way above)
@ Mia (L - Wade is just too good)
vs NJ (W - let's end with a bang)

Final record: 33-49, no PLAYOFFS, 10th in the Eastern Conf (maybe they'll prove me wrong).

What do you think?

We have to play Orlando 3 times? That is a rough final 16

33 is our number.... and playoffs is not our place... yet.
But I think we can get one from Orlando to compensate for another sucker lose.

Well the more playoff teams that the Knicks play in the end the better. Maybe they will be resting their star players for their playoffs.

I actually think the team is getting stronger. I know it sounds crazy, but I think they gain confidence with every game. Even in the loss to the Cav's it wasn't deflating, cuz they were in the game and I think they realize that they can compete with all the teams with the exception of the top tier. I see no reason why they can't win more of the games we have against the rest of the league.

Hate to knitpick, but for the record the Ides of March are just past. It usually refers to the 15h. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ides_of_March Not for nothing a I the true king of completely useless information.

I also predict 33 wins, because 23 and 33 are our favorite numbers for Knicks wins in recent years.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

If we get to 35-37 wins that would be a decent accomplishment looking at the stretch of games we have.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

With any luck they'll go 0-16 and cement the 8th pick.

...

Yeah because the 8th pick is our ticket to a title.

No difference between the 8th and 12th pick in this draft.

I wouldn't go that far. Its close, but at 8, there's a shot that Evans, Thabby, or Rubio will be there. Harden and Griffin are supposed locks for 1,2, so you'd just need one of those guys to drop a couple of slots.

All I really want is 34 wins, just so I can feel like progress has been made over Isiah's regime... better cap situation, better coach, hopefully a better W-L

I don't think they should be shooting for the playoffs, they are under .500 and will be swept in the first round and further screw our draft position.

Winning a few at the end of the seaosn will get this team no where. Experience is key, but in the end we might actually only have Gallo, Chanlder Lee or Nate left from this bunch. We need to lose as many games as possible give Curry and Gallo some minutes and secure another nice talent for rebuilding.

Then we can move Duhon/Harrington in the offseason.

That being said I think 5-11 is what this team is looking at.

maybe there is a difference in talent at 8 & 12, but huge difference in the # of ping pong balls that a team gets.

So to spin it back to you, huge difference in chance at 8 vs. 12 to land in the top 3 via lotto luck!

And there's no chance to move up in the draft when you barely make it into the playoffs.

You gotta be in it, to win it.

I'd rather have the slim chance to move into the top 3 draft spots instead of the zero chance to beat the 1 or 2 seed.

Untrue. Four slot difference actually. Someone failed math.
