Would anyone want Melo on the Knicks. I always liked his playing style. Since I think Wade and LeBron are pipe dream. I wouldn't mind getting Melo here in NY. I think D'Antoni can work with him and get him playing at the elite level he play a few years ago.

Trade idea: Harrington, Jefferies for Melo.

Would you guys do this trade?

Interesting take on things by Isola. I was a HUGE Carmelo fan when he was at Syracuse for that one year, but I've significantly soured on him since then. He's never really done anything THAT bad, but it seems like there's just always something with Melo.

With all that said, you have to take Carmelo, he's still only 24 years old, the dude is a scoring machine and one would think these little (mounting) transgressions he's had will subside with some fresh scenery. The dude has had some real trouble getting out of the 1st round of the playoffs, but you can't necessarily blame Carmelo, especially the last couple years he's played pretty well in the playoffs.

I think Harrington is definitely someone that George Karl would like to coach, he loves that type of player. I think we'd have to pair him with someone like Nate though.

Al and a resigned Dave for Melo is more realistic deal
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Melo reminds me of T-Mac - in attitude and success.

I don't know if I want to gamble on a problem player like Carmelo Anthony. We've gambled enough times before and lost.

You have to remember Al is an all important expiring deal. I would still do the deal without hesitation.

Melo would give us a better shot at 'Bron. I might actually start believing in the Bron thing if we get Anthony.

Trust me the Knicks are gambling either way. Melo isn't that bad I think Karl can be a jackass most of the times.

I'd take Melo but the dude needs to dump that fake thug nonsense. He's gotta mature and work on his game. He hasn't really gotten better. He wastes a lot of moves and he doesn't really score like he should....the dude should be averaging 28 every year and destroying teams like bernard king....has he ever scored 40pts? Or 50pts in a game? That should be regular occurance for Melo....he's that good. I don't think he's pushing himself to get better.

You got to think that D'Antoni can get him going though. I mean look at Al Harrington this guy is having a career year with D'Antoni. I agree with that other stuff there is no place for it.

there's no way DEN would trade Melo to the Knicks for Harrington & Fishlips, & i wouldn't wanna give up what it likely would take us to get him in the first place.

PG - Jennings
SG - Hughes
SF - Melo
PF - Lee
C - Wilcox

You could even start Gallo at SF and push Melo to PF and Lee to Center. Would be a pretty fun team to watch.

Ummmm No. Too soft in the middle. Melo doesn't play D either and if you put him with Lee we are asking for it... Big Time!! Neither one is a banger inside although Lee shows flashes on occasions. In addition, where does that leave Chandler? Is he the SG now? Also, Melo or Dali at PF is a pipe dream. Not gonna happen. Dali should never be considered to be a serious ball handler on a permanent basis. He hasn't shown me any true ball handling ability yet. He's not bad.....for a slow looking big man but just because a big man can dribble doesn't mean he can or should handle the rock and that goes for Melo as well. Now both can shoot the ball from the perimeter with ease but that is a given.

For the fun of it, you can insert Stephen Jackson in this lineup and besides the age difference, the 32 year old Jackson is just about dead even statistically with the younger Melo. They both have a suitcase of dirty laundry with the older player sharing the ball a lot more than the younger player but still averaging the same amount of points with more steals. Carmelo can shoot but nothing else about his game makes him all that special.


Your lineup would work with a true big man in the middle or a STUD at PF. Other than that this line up is seriously flawed from a defensive perspective.

Melo is a headcase but that suspension was because he wanted to win the game and felt that he didn't need to sit down. The fact that Karl still doesn't know how to deal with star players is more ammo against why come he will never be viewed as a HOF coach IMO. I wouldn't trade for Melo because the guy has some real bad knees for his age. I think he will begin to break down in the next couple of years.

I like Melo and I like his skills. But for me, at this point he has a lot of maturing to do before he really leads a team to the next level. I would love to have him, but you have to have a strong veteran squad and a second star to support this guy. He's not going to lead a team of young unproven cats like Lebron and Wade

I saw an article about Melo being suspended and right away I thought - that's probably the superstar the Knicks will end up with. The next article I see speculates on Melo coming to NY.

To me he's not the ideal player to build around. Not saying I wouldn't take him but his lack of maturity will make it harder to build a team around him. You want you best player to be a leader and at this point he isn't.

awesome idea if it were possible, but it would take a whole lotta luck for us to land Jennings in this year's draft, & i don't think for a second that DEN would trade Melo to us for Harrington & Nate... IMO it would take a lot more, probably something along the lines of Lee, Nate & Chandler... Melo's a top 5 scorer in the NBA, u don't get guys like that for cheap, & like i said, i don't think it would be worth it considering some of the points Bip just brought up... i don't think he's got the maturity or the mindset to lead a group of grown men to a championship the way Lebron, CP3 or Wade might... he may have done it in college but the NBA is a whole nother ball of wax... Melo seems like a selfish stat padding type player to me... just the impression i get from watching him, & he doesn't play any defense either... i want my franchise guy to be a true impact player on both sides of the ball if i'm giving up young assets to land him & having to pay him max dollars on top of it... i would be fine w/signing Melo to a FA contract if we couldn't get someone like Lebron or Wade, but to give up our top 3 young players to get him u have to expect more... just my take.
