T Evans - Memphis - Huge PG, not a fully developed player yet
B Jennings - Roma - Small PG, overdribbler, NY personality
J Holliday - UCLA - combo guard, good handle
J Teague - Wake - Smooth but not explosive
W Warren - Okla - Beast of a player, great range
J Flynn - 'Cuse - Smallish, clutch, good orchestrator
D Collison - UCLA - Great defense, experienced, championship persona
T Lawson - UNC - Super Fast, improving shot
S Curry - Dave - Nation's leading scorer, slim build
N Calathes - Fla - Pure point skills, lacks explosion
P Mills - StMary's - NBA Range, Average passer
E Maynor - VCU - Small College, Big Time Player
R Rubio - Spain - ???? Is he coming out? Not tearing it up in Spain, but getting better. Huge buyout.

How insane of a PG list is that for projected 1st rounders in one draft?

We should buy a pick and take more than one of these guys to be honest.

I like Jennings because this Knicks team keeps gagging at the end of games and you feel like there's no Alpha-Dog, there's nobody where everyone on the floor knows that the offense is going through them. The winning teams have that. Jennings can be that. Maybe Warren would fit that role as well.

This draft looks like it's been gift wrapped for a team that desperately needs a really good PG.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I like Tyreke Evans, he has New York swagger.

I like watching Calathes too, he reminds me alot of Mike Miller. The guy isn't the fastest or quickest guard around, but you look up and he has 20 points while running the team like a general.

Above anything else, I would like a guy who can put the ball in the basket and run a team.

Nando de Colo is a French player who looks decent on You Tube too. Would be a good use of the Denver pick if we can stash him over there.

I would say in order

1. Jennings
2 Teague
3. Warren

I don't think we would need to go further than that if we get pick 9. The guy who has star ability is Jennings as the pure PG who can also shoot it. The other guys are really good but they arent the pure PG that Branden is.

I think that the Knicks have to make a decision on their avenue. With 22 games left and -11 I put very low emphasis on the playoffs. It might be different if we had all the players who were going to be here long term but that is far from true. Since we took a project player who lacks athletic ability--the next guy we take[if it's a non C] has to have that NBA athletic ability. Calathes and Curry are really good players but Im not interested any more. We need an athlete who can break guys off the dribble and create separation

Jennings and Calathes would give you something similar to what they thought they were going to have in Phoenix with Marbs and Penny.

Later for those little short point guards. We need a 7 foot center who can block shots and score points. We need a big man. We have enough little people.

If Thabeet is there... you have to think twice, but... imagine how much improved our team is if they have a Devin Harris type player. Does a Dalembert type make us that much better? Maybe. Its a good debate.

I don't want to take Monroe at this point over the top five PG's out there though.

Wow you didn't even mention Eric Maynor and he's a top 3 PG in this draft.

He's all over the board on different lists. I haven't seen him play personally.

He's that good huh?

Warren impresses me a ton because he has that Baron Davis type bulk to him. I think a physical PG would be nice to have on this team.

I've seen Maynor play a bunch of times - most notably when he beat Duke all by himself in the first round of the NCAA tournament a few years ago as an 11 seed. The dude plays for a smaller school (VCU) so he doesn't get as much love. He's not as good as Chris Paul but his game does remind me alot of his.

Like Papabear I would still go with a big man. I think our win/lost record next year will be affected more by defensive presences in the middle. The '10 free agent class pick up(s) will probably be a 2,3, or 4 so I think we would be viewed more of a complete team if we have something realistic in the middle.

Jesse I hear that. I won't shed any tears if we draft Thabeet.

I think you need a special kind of big to play in our offense, where there are probably five PG's that would work very well for us from the list above.

The PG we draft will have to be a player who MDA believes can be the embodiment of his-MDA's- offensive philosophy. I tend to think that he would want someone who he thinks can run his offense over a guy who rates higher in other areas.

I would think that people should be thinking about how MDA would look at the available PG prospects in this draft, and making comments from that perspective.

As a pure PG Branden Jennings has no equal in this draft. I kind of thought we could get a big man and take advantage of the high quality volume of PGs by picking up a second pick and perhaps grabbing a Curry a Lawson--someone who WILL fall and we couldve killed two birds with one stone so to speak. But if they are bluntly looking for a PG for the long term to run the show--there is one star and then all the others. I know Uconn had him ranked as the number one player in the class this year by a mile and he only decided on AZ over Uconn very late in the process. In fact after he left for Europe and he could speak freely on him--JC said that he thought he was the best PG prospect in the last 10 years on his radio show. If that's what the Knicks want--IF they can get up high enough to have a shot--or get to his agent to give him a promise if he doesnt work out anywhere else--than they should go for best of breed.

Calhoun said that he was the best PG in the last 10 years? He's recruited some good ones during that time.

That gets my attention.

Once you get past 10 in this draft all of the value will be in the PG's. If we get multiple picks, and we don't get Thabby or Mullens then we might end up with 2 new PG's of the future.

Chad Ford said he believes that Jennings is going to fall in the 7 to 14 range which means the team has a realistic chance of landing him. But, he also noted that the Knicks are in love with Curry and Lebron is also a big fan, he looks like a real volume shooter but perhaps it's because he doesn't have anyone else out there.

I'll be so pissed if we take Curry high in the draft. Buy a pick Walsh. I think you could get another pick so easy, especially because it's so rich in PG's. If a team doesn't need one... who are you picking?
