Yep, we're going to get drilled.

I actually can't wait. We haven't gotten hit down by me yet this year sans 6 inches a few weeks ago.

We're talking 8-16 inches this go around. Maybe more depending on how it plays out. It'll start later this afternoon/evening farther south - and more into the night farther north.

Go shopping if needed. I already got my storm supplies. (liquor and meat)

I haven't been watching the weather but my father had mentioned the storm coming. Does it sound like Monday is going to be a mess? I have to go to work and class. Ugh.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

You obviously never went to Stoned ee brook. The people running everything there were the biggest tight arses, and I'm not joking. You could have a snow storm giving you 20 feet of snow and classes would not be cancelled. They kept school open for EVERYTHING when I went there.

Pace University in the city canceled class last time for 3 inches. I hope they don't become douches and let us have class this time.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

We NEVER get snow down here in southern Alabama. So I had to get my camera and take pictures as soon as I saw my little girl covered! Actually, by the time I got my camera, the snow on Chance had melted. So I made her go back out in the snow and get covered again! She's a good sport when it comes to silly human entertainment!

She looks like a Doxie here but I think the angle obscures that she actually is about 13 inches tall.

One more. No, she doesn't have turquoise eyes!

Anyone remember the blizzard New Yorkers got in Jan. '96?

That was ugly to say the least. What was it - 38" of snow?

Almost died trying to make sure my car could get out of the driveway- ended up shoveling my driveway every 2 hours because of the buildup of snow in my driveway alley.

I am a NYC teacher, so school was closed for a couple of days, though, so that made up for the bad back.

I was also at U. Buffalo during the 1977 blizzard, which was amazing- school closed for an entire week.

I can't stand when it snows. That means I have to shovel snow in the front and back of the house.

Took Bloomberg and Klein (Schools Chancellor) till about 6AM to shut down the public schools. I woke up early, thinking that I had to leave for work earlier than usual because of the snow. I was also dreading a suspension conference that I was going to have to leave the building to attend.

I went online to the DOE site, but nothing about cancellation at 5:45. Got breakfast ready, and was about to make tea when I heard that the schools were closed.

When interviewed, Klein did not think making an announcement at 6 AM was an inconvenience. (Our first period class begins at 7 AM- if you come in from LI you would have been in route when you heard of the closing.)

Schmucks.

This is why I am taking early retirement.
