For all those who question why Lee and Nate might have to be sacrificed in the Knicks pursuit for max free agents, tonight's game should put those questions to rest. Lee and Nate put up nice numbers but Wade basically took a **** all over the Knicks as he basically won the game singlehandedly.

You can be competitive with players like Lee and Nate but you can't expect to be more than that without a real franchise player.

Disagree about Lee. But Nate I could see being traded to net us either a better player, or a better draft pick. Lee could be a huge part of a contender type team.

I could see Lee going before Nate. I think this team needs a real shotblocking defensive center, no matter who you get in 2010 and that is the position that Lee currently occupies. Nate will be cheaper than Lee and you still need a good sixth man bench player no matter who you get.

Which max fA is coming to NY that is on Wade's level--Wade Lebron Kobe? OK they'll be in NY in two years--after that its crp shoot city with players who are not good enough to take a team to the promised land.

If the Knicks were lucky enough to get in position to get Thabeet who probably would be a Godsend to the franchise--we probably would take someone else. The more I see Gallinari the more I realize we cant take a potential player even though it might be a keen pick. We cant go two drafts in a row potential potential potential. I think we need a guy who can play. Maybe we'll get lucky and get pick 1 and the thought process can stop--the franchise is desperate for it.

& yet u wanna lock up guys like Lamar Odom to longterm contracts? it doesn't make sense to me... we clearly need superstars... if we can't get one in 2010 then we need to look at other alternatives, but on premise isles is absolutely right, Lee & Nate are only taking this team so far... look at our W-L record this year... we still stink & both those guys are playing the best ball of their careers... doesn't take much to figure out we need big time upgrades if we ever wanna be serious about being contenders.

that pretty much takes Mullens out of the equation then.

I think the Knicks keep Lee and Nate. If they can get a quality big in this draft, develop Gallo and Chandler and add someone who can be a primary scorer and score in crunch time that will be the makings of something. I think they'll have the money to get at least one of Lebron or Wade, but even if they don't get him, adding someone like Joe Johnson who can score and score in crunch time that would be fairly significant.

i can't name the superstar obviously cuz 2010 isn't even here yet... who the hell knows what will happen from now til then... i do know 1 thing, that's locking up non-star players to longterm contracts is the wrong plan to follow, unless u wanna go back to the Isiah system of building championship rosters.

There isn't much developing going on here anymore. Chandler and Gallo seem to be after thoughts. They should be getting heavy minutes since they are out of the playoff picture.

Lee is playing out of position though. He's not a center, even in 's system. Perhaps Nate could be a great 6th man when we get good and could be tamed by a more dominant personality, but I think he'd be better used as a chip to cash in.

Lee is a unique talent. His game isn't really based on athleticism and so he could continue his numbers for the next ten years. He's not a star but he's certainly worth 10 mil a year.

so i have to be able to tell u with 100% certainty which superstar will definitely beyond a shadow of a doubt be coming to NY to prove to u why locking up longterm dollars to guys like Lamar Odom is a bad idea? let me tell u, for u to even ask that question much less expect a definite answer is laughable.

Well there is a list of FA out there in 2010--which is the superstar you covet? You can surely do that?

LO at the MLE would be the best signing the Knicks have made in 10 years.

The Knicks need a quality big but they could have had one. I don't think Gallo is a project, I think he is a niche player, a one dimensional player and I don't care that he slaps his teammates @ss when he comes into the game. Mike D' has a pass because he followed a sociopath but that doesn't mean his style of finesse ball will ever win anything significant( see Doug Moe and Don Nelson). My advice to Mike D' is the same that the say when I have fun playing ball with friends and I score, Play Some D'. The Knicks will not win anything of substance until they have a new coach.

There maybe some truth to guys signing in Florida. I think the state taxes are different there and obviously there is a great climate. Being able to play with Wade or Howard has to be a perk also.

forget about Dwight, the Magic are capped out til 2013 because of that ridiculously moronic contract they signed Rashard Lewis to.
