Honest Briggs- I concur. What was so exciting about tonight's barely a win over a short handed below five hundred lottery team?

Why wait and compete with ten other clubs when we can get a great player like Odom now? Why risk losing Nate Lee or Harrington. Were not bad but we need more. You put Lamar Odom at PF and get me an impact athletic slasher and fill out the rest of the bench nicely and we can compete next year. A player like Lamar and another slasher will make this a BADD team--and that is French

It's the NBA, I watched the Lakers beat the Cavs and Celtics and still find a way to lose to a Bobcats team. Right now the only thing that matters if you are chasing the playoffs are wins. Not how pretty they look.

We need more. I watch almost every Laker game--believe me when I say this Lamar Odom is better than any 2010 FA other than Lebron Nowitski or Wade. Were not far off from being real good. A high talent NBA vet like Odom and another athletic slasher could make this team great quickly.

Odom? I doubt he really would add much to this roster.
If the Knicks can't get Lebron/Wade they should focus on picking up a defensive presence on the interior and they need a 2/3 who can be a more consistent scoring threat than Harrington.

Honestly, we can do alot better than Odom.

Why rush to these early judgements when we can wait and see what kind of players are going to be available at next years deadline. Teams like the Hornets selling off a guy like Tyson Chandler is just the tip of the iceberg with the selloffs.

Lamar Odom is unrestricted. Because he is 30--he will not draw heavy offers in FA. Give him the full MLE. Lamar Odom is playing like a first team all NBA player since Bynum went down. In this system--he could make this team great. Think about it for one second--we don't lose anyone and we add Odom and draft an athletic slashing G who is ready to go now. The best time to win is now.
The plan is too shaky if it means giving up Nate and Lee for nothing. I say strike this summer.

He is unrestricted==they cant pay him--they're already at 75mm$ next year

Odom is not going to re-sign with LA, no way. The guy needs to be starting somewhere.

I think Odom would be a perfect fit in this offense. Give you another skilled passer and scorer and rebounder.

Since Bynum went down--he has been putting up 20-15 nearly every night. Imagine removing Jefferies and putting Odom in there--adding a athletic G via the draft who can play now and filling out the roster in a wise way?

Odom constantly has stretches of greatness followed by lassitude. I wont go so far as to call him an enigma, but you go far with him as your main guy.

He showing what he can do right now as a main front court player. He was willing to play a role most of the year. The guy is reaching his potential and his potential is better than almost any FA in 2010 sans the top 3 for this team. Like King 1 said and what I believe score rebound pass high IQ vet 6-10 245 --the guy has been unbelievable and fits this system perfect.

He showing what he can do right now as a main front court player. He was willing to play a role most of the year. The problem is this isn't the first time he's shown this kind of potential, and then fallen back. He's been marked with this kind of potential throughout his career, but never sustained it. I don't think anyone doubts what he can do, the question is for how long he will do.

All Odom is doing is positioning himself for another contract. You think at 30 the light just went on for this guy? I'll say what Blue didn't want to say - he's an enigma.

I would gladly offer Odom the MLE. He is worth more and he knows it. Personally, I would take any Odom-caliber player at the MLE over Bosh or Amare at the max. I don't think Duhon is good enough to win a championship in the NBA. I think that Jason Kidd at the MLE should be looked at. If for 2009 you can somehow add Kidd and Odom? I would trade our newly drafted prospect with filler for that opportunity-- this team as constructed could compete -- and depending on the price you pay for Lee and Nate, you might have room for a certain max SF in 2010 [probably not, without moving Gallo and Chandler, or Jeffries or Curry]...


Kidd/Nate/Chandler/Odom/Lee
Duhon/Hughes/Gallo/Harrington
Qrich/Jeffries/Curry
