There's this idiot in the Utah forum (erudite23)who thinks that the Knicks pick next year has a good chance of being a top 6 pick. Since I've been banned I can't do it, but this guy thinks where going to lose both Lee and Nate in the summer and crash next year. I think someone should tell him there's a new sheriff in town.

Utah fans are pissed that the Knicks are winning so many games. I know crap on Walsh for not trading Lee or Nate. Someone pointed out the they get the Knicks pick. LOL.

Lack of players, MDA'S style of play, and contract years have definately helped Nate and Lee. Other teams should overpay, I hope we dont.

What did the guy say that wasn't true? You do realize that the Knicks are in the position to lose Lee and Nate for absolutely nothing this summer or severely handicap themselves in their oft stated goal of being a major player in free agency in the summer of 2010. And Jeffries and Curry would still be on the roster as Walsh chose not to use $28M in expiring contracts, Nate and Lee and the ability to eat another team's salary for a year. So many wasted opportunities.

This would make you so happy wouldn't it. I could just imagine your posts brimming with enthusiasm as you tell us all how much the Knicks suck and Walsh is a moron.

I'd tell you what's wrong with the rest of you opinion but chances are you already know and are just grandstanding.

How so? You seem to thrive off the Knicks adversity. I'm not the only one that does not understand what you're trying to accomplish by constantly blasting everything they do. What's with all the venom?

if we end up losing Lee & Nate w/o getting anything back in return i'd say that might be a realistic assumption, but i don't think Donnie would let it get to that anyway, so it's sorta a moot point... he's either gonna sign & trade those guys for a player that will help this team, or he'll hold onto them... either way, he'd be a moron for letting them walk w/o getting anything back in return.

My point wasn't that they were going to lose them for nothing. It's that if they do sign and trade them or hold onto them all together, it severly hampers their ability to sign even a single top free agent in 2010. But if they do lose either of them for nothing, it would be ridiculously moronic.

One way or another the team has put itself in an enormous Catch-22 situation.

either way we won't be a top 6 lottery slot in next year's draft unless there are some majorly moronic decisions made this offseason or some major injuries to our key players next season, i think it's fair to assume that much.

He could be right he could be wrong--it's unrestricted and the last time I looked we don't have Tim Duncan and were sitting 8 game s under .500 today.

Bottom line is that Walsh still has a lot of heavy lifting left to do before 2010.

That fair to say?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Heavy lifting and tremendous assets to do whatever he wants.

48M in 2010 expirings.

Some nice kids in Nate and Lee and Chandler.

We can do any number of things come late 2010. We can do trade deadline deals with all those massive expirings. We can absorb salary in trades the summer of 2010 if need be. We have some guys we can clearly S&T.

We have what we need to build a winning team for 2010-2011 and beyond. Whether the chips fall into place is a different story but the fact is Donnie has set us up with multiple options and plentiful assets to potentially get it done.

Can't ask for anything more given where Isiah had left us.
