Is anyone ready to declare the 2010 plan a bust yet? With the current economic condition of the league and the cap in recession, JJ2 and Curry's contracts still on the books, Lee and N8's future with this team in limbo....is it time to get back to reality and try and improve THIS team? Or do we trade N8 and Lee and keep our fingers crossed for the future? Let's face it, we we need Donnie to make some bold moves NOW.

The counter argument will be that if the salary cap comes down, then the expectations of players will have to come down as well.

If the Knicks can't get rid of Curry and Jefferies then there is no way that the 2010 plan will work. Or let Nate and Lee walk thats the only way 2010 will work.

This article really didnt say anthing that we didnt already know. Our biggest challenge over the next calander year is moving Jefferies. He is the last piece in our salary cap puzzle. Curry is probably a lost cause at this point, unless there is some sort of miracle.

If the right deal comes along, I'm sure Walsh is game, but there is no need for panic right now. I dont want to see Jamison on the knicks with the rationale being a shrinking economy.

The real challenge is....what do we do with N8 and Lee? Ain't much we can do about JJ2 and big snacks right now. If Donnie is waiting for a Lee/JJ2 deal...he's got huge balls after the commish's speech. Yeah, I guess the prudent thing is to wait for the summer...but Rose's expiring is valuable now. A Rose/Lee deal matches up with alot of teams that can fill our needs right now.

If we can't move enough salary for 2 FAs in 2010, e could still sign 1 big FA in 2010, and then go after someone like Mello in 2011.

Not sure what you mean that the questions regarding Nate and Lee re-signing are much different than they have been all season.

Actually, if anything, the economic crisis may mean we are more likely to be able to sign them for closer to market value, which would make them more movable, if needs be down the road.

I cannot see Lee starting at $11 mil a year, btw. that's FAR too much.

If we Have Bosh, Amare or Joe Johnson we'd at least be a playoff team.

We could sign someone like Nash as a FA as well, on the cheap.

Why would any of those guys want to give up max dollars playing on good teams to come here and play with our group of underachievers?

yeah, i don't see anyone close to resembling a super-star on our team. the cavs do not have a roster full of "talent" any better than we have, i'd suggest as well.

add lebron to our team and we'd be MUCH better.

Hahaha...blond curly hair dude, LMAO. Not for nothing, but their bench has taken it to us all season. If our plan is 1 max free agent, we still have room to make improvements. It's a buyers market and we should be buying. No-one on this team has proven to be irreplaceable.
