.....would you do a mega deal for Shaq, Stoudemire and Nash? If they are looking for expiring's, it would take Marbury's expiring to make it work. Maybe they'd take Curry too (ha!, fat chance). Malik Rose and probably a young stud like Chandler. Harrington also works instead of Curry. Would you do it if it was

Nash, Shaq and Stoudemire

for

Marbury, Rose, Chandler and Harrington? or Marbury, Rose Curry and Harrinton?

That works. Marbury/Lee for Nash/Stoudemire also works.

It only works if the Suns are looking to dump salary in Shaq, Stoudemire and Nash (48M) and start a rebuild.

BTW - I think Nash wold be sick playing off the ball as a SG.

PG - Duhon
SG - Nash
SF - Chandler
PF - Stoudemire
C - Shaq

Bench - Harrington, Gallinari, Q, JJ2, N8, Thomas

This post defines stupidity. The Suns would be getting what exactly?

They could make a trade with the blazers and get great young talent for Nash alone. They could pretty much trade Stoudamire for a young allstar, and then turn around and turn shaq into something as well without taking the knicks garbage.

Have you checked the numbers on that? Since I am obviously not as quick as you, how exactly do you get a trade for a veteran player making 12M like Nash to equal a trade for young talent making 2M?. Do you include expiring filler, or garbage as you call it? Also, who exactly is trading young allstars for Stoudemire and what are these allstars names? And, who is going to take Shaq's 22M contract with another year on it? And if there is a team for Shaq, what are they giving in return?

How about some actual names and numbers?

If Phoenix decides to burn it down, we are a good trading partner because we can match up with expiring's like Marbury. More likely, they'll look to deal Stoudemire on his own, but we can certainly match up to take an aging Nash and Shaq (34M) of their hands.

Yeah, seriously. LOL. I'd have to imagine Isiah is advising Kerr if that were to go down.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Trading Partners for Amare could include the following teams:

Trade #1 Amare for Horford/Marvin Williams/Zaza (Amare/Joe Johnson/Josh Smith) I think they do that deal on both sides before any deal you mentioned if the Suns are rebuilding.

Amare #2 for Marc Gasol, Mike Conely Jr. Hakim Warrick, number 1 pick. Which they would do with Mayo/Gay/Amare as your core long term

Amare #3 for Brandon Wright, Anthony Randolf, Jamal Crawford

Amare #4 for Jeff Green, number #1, chris wilcox, sene

Nash could be dealt for Jarred Bayless and Raef LaFrentz, they would do this deal because Nash can make them a big contender in the conference and they already have a ton of talent

put it this way, we'd be lucky to get them to give us Amare by himself for Lee, Harrington & Rose's expiring... they ain't gonna throw Nash & Shaq into the deal as fillers just to free up their cap for next season... anyway we don't have the salaries to make a deal like that even possible unless u think Marbury, Duhon & Eddy Curry are attractive pieces to them in a salary trade, which isn't realistic

think about what the Suns are actually gaining out of that deal u proposed... a chance to sign Allen Iverson in free agency in '09? who are the other big name stars available that would motivate them to free up all their large money contract players for next season? Kobe's not gonna leave LA for Phoenix.

I've thought Phoenix might want to blow it up- but as bad as Shaq's deal is, he expires in 2010. So, after this year- and they are likely to give it one more try this year- Shaq might be moveable to a team desperate like Phoenix, wanting to rent him for a year.

The Suns are 17M over the cap this year. Marbury and Rose's expiring's would be 27/28M off the books for next year. The economy isn't getting any better and not everyone has cablevision bucks to spend and a desire to pay luxury tax. The motivating factor would HAVE to be the bottom line and cap flexibility. You add Lee and Harrinton and they can stay competitive this year, make some playoff revenue and they are only on the hook for Harrington next year who makes a reasonable salary and has good offensive output.

If you're going to trade Stoudemire, why not use him to try and move Shaq's enormous contract? My scenario really is about the Suns getting under the salary cap. How many teams out there can match up on Shaq with expiring's? Throw in Stoudemire as a sweetener and we can still match up with expiring's and young talent. As an added bonus, they move everyone out of the Western Conference.

They're barely over .500 now and hanging on to the 8th spot by a thread. This ain't their year. Do you really think they are happy with the production of their 76M payroll? How far do you think they can go in the playoffs 'as is' if they can in fact make the playoffs?
