LBJ - bigger, better in every statistical category, no rings yet (played on crap teams that he carried)

Kobe - Michael Jordan lite (really lite after last years finals), 3 championships (albiet w/ Shaq)

Who is better right now?

This thread would've been better with a poll, just for fun.

Kobe is #1, LeBron is #2. But the gap is closing. Personally, I think LBJ is more like Magic Johnson. The guy averages 7 dimes a game as a small (haha) forward. Kobe's a better shooter and defender than LBJ so I have to give "Bean" the nod here.

I actually think LBJ is the best defender in the NBA this year.

Who is better at making their teams better? LeBron

Who is more skilled? Both equally I would say

Who is a better shooter? Kobe

Who's better at getting to the basket? LeBron

Who's the better athlete? LeBron

Who is going to have a better chance at torching you from every angle? Kobe

Who makes you sheeeot in your pants? Kobe

At this point, I say Kobe just b/c he has a lot more winning experience, but hey, you have to be given a chance to win in order to win. Soon enough, LeBron will rise far above Kobe.

LBJ - more ppg, rpg, apg, blocks-pg, steals-pg, higher FG %

In Lebron's own words "I think Kobe is the best player in the league right now"

I still wouldn't discount Tim Duncan though. I think he's right with LeBron and Kobe. Just a different type of player.

we need to settle this old school style. let's score their action figures and then smash them against each other in the backyard. maybe even a little lighter fluid and match action for the grand finale

Not even a debate. Kobe couldn't get that cleveland team to the finals or take the celtics to 7 games last year.

We need to mention that Jordan had a pretty good supporting cast and that Pippen was a top 5 player when he played with Mike. I think it's always dismissive

Pippen
17.6pts 7.6rbs 5.0ass 2stls (19pts 8rbs 6ass 2stls during the championship years)
-best defensive sf in the league

Rodman (Grant was one of the best defenders before Rodman)
15rbs, best defensive pf in the league

Kukoc
13.5 5.5rbd 5.0ass

That logic would suggest that the Hawks were better than the Lakers and Piston's, and I don't think you believe that.

I like Kobe but he does wig out in the playoffs w/o Shaq. But didn't it take Bron until last season to hit his first game winning shot? C'mon with that!

Haven't seen enough Bron this year to weigh in, but as of last year I'd have gone with the MVP.

LBJ Hands down. Anyone that has his numbers, plays great D AND makes everyone on the team better gets my vote. I'd take Duncan over Kobe as well.
