Roughly 30 minutes per game

21 points 4.3 assists 4.3 rebounds 2 steals FG 52.3%

This is more how he played prior to slump--he was shooting in the mid 47 range FG % wise with a high efg.

Now I thought last night he took too many 3s although he did hit 4 of them. You just don't want to take 10 individual 3's--half of his shots[I know one or two were forced in terms of time clock]

However I thought he was one of the main conduits on the team in terms of impact of W-L the last 3 nights and the Knicks couldve won them all.

We don't really talk about it because David Lee's extension has been more of the main subject going into the 2010 plan's but Nate is up for a raise as well and I think he would command a full MLE.

The question going forward is do we sign Nate to a full MLE deal[or willing to match] or can we afford to see him leave for no compensation? I think he is way to talented to let go simply for nothing. If so--isnt it a good time to figure out his market now after a period of very good play?

Let's not forget that he was doing very well before he got injured. I think he's been working through some of that injury and is finally healing. So it's no surprise that's he's doing well all the sudden again.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think the injury is total BS - fact is he lit it up on the West Coast against Phoenix, Lakers and SacTown after the injury.

He went into a slump and started doubting himself - something NATE typically doesn't do. He's not the type of player that can slow down his game and play smoothly - he's better when in attack mode and NOT fearing mistakes, which is what he's been doing the past few games.

Nate has been our best outside shooter since he arrived via the draft. His outside shot is the one thing that distinguishes him from other midget players from the past (Bogues, Webb, etc) because he has a very good stroke and doesn't have to rely purely on trying to get to the basket.

He's playing better -- we'll see what Donnie thinks about it.

I'm starting to believe both Lee and Robinson will be signed but at this point I have no idea what's going on in Donnie's head.

So you don't think the injury coincides with his play before and after, aside from having a few good games after the injury? Ever hear of ups and down while recovering. But what the hell do the both of us know about it really?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Please only one could hope. Supposedly there's this belief he is wearing on the org. I hope it's not just trade rumor talk and more reality. Get him off this team A.S.A.P. He doesn't really fit into our long term plans being that he's a RFA this off season.

I think they really like Nate. Nate had a slump--what can you do about it? How many players have Nate's abilities off the bench? I'm not against trading Nate--but I need fair value and I don't think you can get it. Id have to think 15 teams+ in this league would love to have nate. He just needs to be sternly reminded to watch his shot selection.

I get the feeling that some of you guys just want N8 to be gone and forget about his value. When a player is struggling the first thing that comes into your mind is trade. trade, trade.N8 is one of the hardest working guys on the team.

Nate's honeymoon with D'Antoni is over. Coach is real frustrated with him, look for a trade in the next month.

I think he's a keeper. Don't discount the fact that FAs around the league might want to come play with him. Based on what I've read in the past (other team's player's reactions to Nate's game) I really believe that. Nate has a lot of respect around the league from a lot of the upper-echelon players. He could really be instrumental in helping recruit a player or two when the time comes.

For me, as good as Duhon has played for us this year, if it came down keeping either Nate or Duhon and parting ways with the other to save some money -- I keep Nate and say goodbye to Duhon. They'll be other Chris Duhons (esp. in this wide open system) - Nate's really one of a kind.

I would take other players reaction to him wiuth a grain of salt. I think Nate is amussing from a far, but can you imagine Kobe Bryant standing on the wing waitin fot the ball while nate goes into one his acts and commits a bonehead play? Kobe would be ready to strangle him before preseason ends.

I think Nate can be a nice spark off the bench for a good team, But I dont see anyone lining up to come play with Nate.

Nate is a shorter Jamal Crawford. He's a loser, plain and simple. All he cares about are his numbers and making highlight reels. You can't teach him to be a team player.

I hope he tears it up from now until the trade deadline, then find some dumb GM to take him. If they can get a first round pick or package him with Jeffries, that would be ideal. Then they can try to re-sign Lee to a sensible contract and hope to God that Curry can rehab his trade value by 2010.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

50X tougher than Jamal Crawford and a better all around player. The only thing that holds back Nate at times is Nate. If he plays within himself--he certainly---or should I say easily is one of the top 6th men in this league. He's an impact bench player. I'd like to see him back between 45-47% and he's going in the right direction

Yeah I agree. One of the top 6th men in the game today. I for one stood by the guy during his recent slump when everyone wanted to get rid of him. That's crazy. Players go through slumps and droughts all the time. Nothing you can do. As much of a showman as Nate is, I never once thought he wasn't playing to help the Knicks win a game. This guy plays incredibly hard every single night. And to win. The guy's a gamechanger. Same with David Lee. Having said that, if the Knicks had an opportunity to get better by dealing away either guy, I'm all for it. I could go either way and be fine with it as long as whatever decision is made with these two is in the best interest of the team's future.

Forgot to add that I think the nonsense that comes with Nate at times (the reckless/out of control play, bad shot selection, yelling at the refs, getting called for techs while on the bench, etc...) wouldn't happen if Nate were playing alongside a superstar talent like Kobe or LeBron. A LeBron James would reel in Nate right away with that stuff the first time it happened - it just wouldn't be tolerated by a superstar & I actually think Nate would respond favorably and mature greatly playing next to a superstar like that every night. Right now, Nate's not playing alongside a player of that caliber. For all intent and purposes, this is Nate's team right now. Nate and Lee's. They're the best two players. You can slowly see D'Antoni getting a little frustrated with Nate's antics and I actually like that MDA pulled him out of the game the other night and screamed at him when he went to the bench. If LeBron ever came here and told Nate to knock off the nonsense, odds are he'd listen.

Nate is clearly an impact player.

But he is a luxury, one I would say we shouldn't keep.

I'd look to try to get at least 2 first round picks- maybe there is a play off team holding someone elses lotto bound pick, like Utah

Give me one in 2009 and 2010 or a teams own 2009 & 2011.

i realize Nate's value & i don't see him ever becoming the player we hope for him to be... i think it's in our best interest to trade him & get back a pick this year & take someone like Patterson or Budinger in the mid-late 1st round... he's always gonna be a knucklehead IMHO, even tho he's a very exciting player to watch at times... we need smart basketball players here, no more knuckleheads.

the question for me with Nate is which Nate is going to show up? he's maddening. I love his heart, but hate his stupidity - but I worry the two things are inseparable.
