We've gone through a relative easy patch--but coming soon the level of competition picks up+ we go on a western road trip as well.

No problem. The main thing is that Chandler, DG, and Nate continue to get playing time and develop. Whether we win or lose, the main thing is that the team competes and continues to improve. This season is more about evaluation and cleaning out the trash from the roster.

With the Rooster, I feel like we are a part of the Western Conference, at least mentally.

1 game out of the 8 seed right now behind Milwaukee, and we actually are 1 game up in the loss column on the Bucks

Id like to see them get 3 of these next 4 because as you said, February gets brutal.

yeah, the february schedule is brutal. if we're still in the playoff hunt come march 1, i will be impressed. cavs/boston/lakers back to back to back at the garden and then a three game west coast swing before the all-star break. ouch. then san antonio and orlando and some big games against toronto. tough month.

I have to say about Lee--this guy is really building towards a maximum type contract. The guy is putting up 19-14 and shooting near 60% since the trade--and that is a very long and consistent period of time. What is 19-14 in this league? That is maximum type contract numbers. The guy is a unique burgeoning star.

Briggs, Lee will come nowhere close to getting a max contract. He's going to get 9-10 mill a year max. You go overboard with these assumptions, Lee isn't even going to get voted onto the All-Star by the Eastern Conference coaches, let alone get a max contract.

If Lee gets a max contract, good for him. Let him go to the team that gives him that contract because that will end up being one terrible, untradeable deal. Kinda like how Brian Grant's was for such a long time with the Heat. If a team wants to waste all its salary cap space on David Lee then their GM must be one giant idiot.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Totally agree. We all know what kind of player Lee is and we all love Lee, but he is nowhere near a max player.

Signing players to deals like that is how you seriously screw up your cap situation and I'm no interested in going down that road again.

Lee is scoring more because of the system. In a regular offense, he is more of a 14-15 pts, 10 rebs guy. Those are solid numbers but certainly not max player numbers.

Lee doesnt want to break the bank he wants a fair market contract just like any other player does. Thought he played decent last night after 2 hours of sleep and missing shoot around because of flu like symptoms

I still think a 5yr/45-50 deal for Lee is more than fair.

MikeD's system throws stats out of whack and that has to be taken into account.

Question. Doesn't the actual maximum amount of a contract depend on how many years a player has been in the league. In other words, if Lee signs a max contract, wouldn't it be lower than a player on his second contract (after his rookie deal)?

How is Chris Bosh a max player? He plays no defense and his team are terrible. They have the worst defense in the league and his team has more talent than the Knicks and they still lose.

King, if D'Antoni was coaching the Raptors they'd be above .500 and Bosh would be averaging 27pts/13rebs.

Bosh can create his own offense and is putting up 23 points in a non-D'Antoni structure, to me he's undoubtedly a max player.

I think if Lee gets offered somewhere around 9 mil, he'll stay, because he want's to stay in NY. The only way he'd ever be gone is if they trade him.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Chris is on the wrong team. When Spreewell came to the Knicks, nobody knew he was as explosive as he turned out to be. I think Chris has a lot more to offer.
