What more does a guy have to do? He has already had a 27 rebound, 30 or 40 point game. He keeps coming up HUGE in key victories, best and most recently exemplified in the Knicks milestone victory over the Suns at the Garden.

Since the Zach Randolph trade, he is putting up INCREDIBLE numbers. Off the top of my head, 19 and 13. I am certain he is in the top 3 in the league in double-doubles, as well. Fourth in both FG% and rebounds.

If David Lee's performance this season hasn't been All-Star caliber, then I don't know what would be?

Made me think of Reed vs Chamberlain/Alcindor during this game when he was hitting his jump shots as Shaq packed the middle. He put up that midrange jumper without hesitation, something he never would have done last year.

the problem is he is a good player putting up great numbers on a bad team.

Great rebounder? Maybe- but look at our team differential against opponents- -4.5, and only Golden State is worse.

My point is, if he was an all star rebounder, that differential should be less.

You want to send him as a center? With block shots being such a dramatic problem.


If every team had to have 1 player go, then yes, Lee would be our selection. And there is a ton of stuff he does- the small things- that coaches appreciate, and on that basis, he may get picked.

And to some degree, given that NYC is the BIGGEST city, no excuse for Lee not being voted in.

well, only if the team is clearly in the running for a playoff spot in the next couple of weeks ( which is possible with the schedule). center wise, if jamaal magloire was an all-star center before with his horrid numbers that one year, then clearly lee deserves it. not many centers in the east period that deserves it.

If Lee was an all-star he would be an impact player when the game is on the line. He would carry the team on his sholders. If Lee was an all-star all we would need to get is Lebron Jame and another center and we would be good to go, but thats not the case. We need an almost whole new team.

numbers wise there's no argument that he's been the 2nd best C in the EC this year behind D Howard... the only problem is i dunno if he'll get the recognition to get in... would be great to see him get in tho.

Don't the fans vote in the All Star players?

This would drive up both his trade value and the cost of re-signing him.

The funny thing is that a lot of people were calling Dantoni's offense a gimmick.. in which they were just way off if you look at the definition of "gimmick".. and they implied guys like duhon and lee had padded numbers as a result of speedball.. well Dantoni slowed things down some, but I have yet to see this dip in production... Lee is just a good ball player. End of story..

Someone is going to offer Lee a contract that Walsh won't match because of 2010.
