As I remember from the short time we saw him in the past, tonite he looked more fluid, like he knew what he was doing, and while he was sitting, watching, maybe he was absorbing the plays and stuff.IMO he was ok and the only thing going to help him from now on is playing time IMO Lets all please remember this kid is what 19 or 20 lets not put too much pressure on him. As long as he keeps his head on straight and keeps sucking up experience and knowledge again IMO I think we have a keeper.

well, I liked that he decided he'd have to suck it up and play with pain (finally)

I want to see this kid get more touches, more PT asap...even if it means losing. We need to see what we have and how/if he can help this team. Every player on this team, in spite of their stats (see Duhon, Lee, Al, etc), has done absolutely nothing for this team of late in terms of W's(I absolve Chandler only because he is young and really playing his rookie season). I am not saying Gallinari is a saviour of any sorts, but the team needs some type of "pick-me-up" and he may keep things interesting enough for people to watch...the team's "schtick" has grown boring...maybe Gallo provides a little more entertainment.

BTW., Sixers got lucky with Speights...he seems like he could really be a good player...

I don't think they got lucky... I just think it's Billy Donovan being able to recruit another really talented PF/C. Lee/Noah/Horford/Speights

I think he has a great shot and he hustled and displayed good effort. I don't think his ball handling is good by nba standards and he seems to need to look at the ball when dribbling and before he makes his move close to the basket.

Nice shooting stroke, can get to the hoop, seems to have a good feel for the game.... only 15 min of play, but the kid seems like a player from what little I have seen so far..

He was good with the stroke and showed hustle. He didn't embarrass me nor did he impress as a Knick fan tonight. He showed me what I expected. I could do without the fist pumping on every stat line produce although I can understand but I am not sure opposing players will.

i think he looked pretty tentative & rushed some of his shots early on, but he seemed to settle down a bit later on... i didn't come away w/much more than what we saw from him in Summer Leagues tho... i hope he can stay healthy enough to get more extended runs for the rest of this season so we actually have something to base our opinions on.

I disagree. I think it's better not to have anything to base our opinions on. It keeps things interesting.

Yes, DJ...it did. Plus, since you are TRF (the raptors fan), you know that it pretty much took Andrea "Eyebrows" Bargnani until this year to come in to his own. Granted Bargs did not have injuries that kept him out of the better part of the first half of his rookie season, but people were labeling him "bust" until recently. Big reason why they traded for JO...now, Bargs' improvement is the reason why they are looking to trade JO (espn said potentially with Miami for Marion).

yea, Bargnani was considered "Il Bustino version 1.0" before the last 10 games where he's been putting up some really nice numbers...funny how waiting to see how these players actually pan out before pre-judging them can net u completely different results... not to mention casting final judgements on 23 yo kids in the NBA is premature at best, forget about trying to cast judgements on 20 year olds who haven't even played a full 48 minutes in the NBA!

he was a little shaky, but he did show some promise. i hope he can play the rest of the season. we certainly can use his shooting and playmaking abilities.

He needs to play at least 20 minutes a game. We need to see if this kid can replace Lee, which means we need to see if he can rebound. If he can, then we can trade Lee for some more pieces and put ourselves in great shape for 2010. The kid can definitely shoot. The question is can he do more.

Rebound? His game is completely different from Lee. It'd be nice if he could replace QRich in the starting lineup and slide Wilson over to SG.

I don't think anyone has Gallo replacing Lee.

the funny thing is the 6 points in 15 minutes he put up last nite is already better than what Bayless is averaging for the season... i still don't get why u think we made such a huge mistake passing up on that guy.

he's a super athletic combo guard who can run all day and jump through the roof and shoot lights out. he's lighting it up now that he is getting real playing time - 23pts and 14pts both on 6-9FG. i just think he would've been a better fit for the team and he was a known quantity. At the draft we did not have Duhon and we all knew Marbury was not playing here (or that's what I assumed) so I thought we desperately needed another guard. He was a quality one we could have had. What's been one of our main problems all year? lack of depth at guard. Qrich has been one of the least effective starters in the NBA for four years now, Duhon leads the league in minutes and Nate has been a trainwreck.

I am not rooting against Gallo, i like the kid and I want him to be great. but the pick scared the hell out of me because I agreed with Walsh that it had to be a "cant miss" pick and you had guys on the board who fit that and then you had a mystery in Gallo who no one saw play - by no one i mean Walsh or D'antoni. But he looks promising and I wil be rooting for him like any other knick - i just wanted other guys over him. and i do think Bayless is an explosive player.

Dude, the guy is 6'10" and he will probably be 6'11" by the time he stops growing, which makes him the tallest skilled frontcourt player we have. He cannot guard SFs, so he is going to have to play PF a large part of the time. If he cannot rebound, then he really weakens the team, and I really don't want him developing into a guy who just hangs out at the three point line all day. We need him to be able to battle for rebounds against PFs and we need him to be able to adequately defend that position.
