Last 5 games...15.6 pts...5.4 ast...4.2 boards..2.2 stls...

Not bad...

he's a half court player and he's thriving in LAC's half court offense. that said, it would've been nice to not throw him in the ZBO trade. we could use Mardy right now.

He had a stretch with us where he averaged close to those numbers. Many solid games with playing time. I think it was closing the last season or the prior season. Anyway, he went out of flavor fast. People wanted to trade him for a bag of ships, so there you go.

Its nice that he has a chance with them. Wish him luck.

Meanwhile, the Paper Clips are on a 12-game losing streak.

Good for Mardy putting up decent numbers though.

Yeah, as a Knick I can't imagine my team sucking like that.

You say that as if we couldn't use ZBO's services right about now.

i agree... we shoulda pulled him back after we found out Mobley was likely done for his career... i don't think the Clips woulda viewed that as a deal breaker at the time, & we have been short handed at G since we made the trade.

Never understood why Walsh just gave Collins away. Other than Duhon, he was the only true pg we had on the team and he was our best perimeter defender. They should have sent Roberson packing and kept Mardy.

I always stuck up for Mardy because I watched him at Temple and knew he could play. He's very unique - he's big and strong and very crafty with the ball. Very smooth. The guy can get to the rim, he's a good passer and he plays defense. But it was always something with most of you guys - he sucks, he can't shoot, he dribbles too high... Ok, the jumper still needs a little work but he's got time to work on that. He's not as bad a jumpshooter as people think anyway - he was making progress, even with us. Even at the foul line he was making some strides - I noticed that right from the summer league. Glad for Collins, he seemed like a real humble, quiet kid and to me, he brought a decent amount to the table. I'm glad he's getting some PT now to show what he can do. Mardy Collins could play for me anytime.

Somehow Walsh thinks Roberson has value. At least, thats what reports said months ago. I think that D'Antoni's benching has sent Walsh a message.

I just wish Walsh was more pro-active. Its obvious Roberson has no place on the team. He isn't a Curry or a Jerome or a Jeffries. In other words, you can buy him out because of his short contract. There ARE, no doubt in my mind, more talented players, especially guards, playing in the NBDL. Your team is going nowhere and any talent you can find will have twice its value to your franchise. Try it out. Buy out Roberson and start handing 10-days contracts to see what happens.

That's why Roberson will remain... while he doesn't have any real value, he is cheap. And the Knicks are bad. So, what's the point of buying him out? A one game improvement?

Its not about games, its about the possibility of finding real cheap talent that can even stay beyond 2010. Even talent for good role players, but anything more than what Roberson promises, which is nothing beyond this year.

It's not that I disagree with your logic, it's that I don't think Walsh is going to make Dolan eat salary when he was so quick to sign him in the first place

I totally agree. Cut Roberson and start trying out some players with potential. I was send Isiah down to the d-league and see if he could find a solid prospect down there. We might be able to find a solid rotation guy on the cheap who we can use next year.

Wow. Just let a player leave the Knicks and we all pine for his return. I guess the grass really is greener in Los Angeles.

Regarding Isiah drafting, what about Balkman, Frye, and since he played here last year Fred Jones?

More examples of his stunning drafting ability. A guy like Fred Jones doesn't come along every day. There's another great one we let get away.

No GM in the league will ever get it 100 percent correct...None..Isiah has drafted guys that has turned out to be NBA players that was on no one's radar...Before Isiah, Charlie Ward was the only player to really stick on this roster in many years...

My list would be a lot longer with players that stuck than players that didn't...Everyone can draft the number one player but how many can draft at the end of the rounds..

Not many here are talking about Ariza either...

Here comes Mardy...
