it's time to flush it all and tank to high heavan. We desperately need pick 1 in the draft and we need the best odds to get it. Just throw a nuclear bomb in the middle and let it happen.

I actually thought Donnie wanted to win with this roster. Good advice for him.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Well they dumped Zach, dumped Jamal, and have since gone 7-17. I think Walsh is a few steps ahead of you.

I think Walsh dropped the ball on the trades, this team should be fighting for the sixth seed with the heat. Instead we are getting our doors blown off by the thunder.........Pssh.

I would trade Lee and JJ2 to the Blazers for Bayless and Outlaw.

We are trying as hard as possible to win. IMHO--a team that is truly rebuilding--atleast for a year or two HAS to let it go and win 20 games or less and acquire more than 1 draft pick. If we are going to*rebuild* then the only year to do it is this year because we have NO picks next year. Time to trade anyone and anyone except salary restricted players and try to lose as many games as we can the second half of the season. We need a very high pick--really we could use pick 1 for once.

This is awful logic - why should we win this year? Clearly we are not in a position to make a run int he playoffs so we win this year and get a pick in the mid to late teens? Maybe even in the 20's? Then next year we dont get ANYTHING?

Tank this year, qualify for the playoffs next year, then sign 2 FA's to improve the squad.

We can belly ache.....and yes I'm belly aching hard.....mission is already accomplished as far as what Donnie came here to do....get cap room.

Can we ask for anything more? I mean wasn't this the plan? We can't expect to win with no shooting guard or center or 7 guys?

Wooosaaaaa!

Donnie has all the leverage in the world. He has shown that he's not scared to pull the trigger and he has a firm grip on the prize that is 2010.
The Knicks could use another trade but damn dude.....Donnie already traded Craw and Zach on the same day.

I think the team would be doing alot better if Mobley were playing. I don't think Walsh had any idea about how that would turnout.

Why are some people, and I'm not singling you out Eny, so content with pissing away 2 years instead of looking to develop players properly?

Believe it or not but the first 2 years of D'Antoni's contract is not a No Show job.

I would say that Chandler has developed. Who else is there to develop? Nate is never going to develop.

Has he really developed? I refer you to the NY Times article that uses John Hollinger's PER to show that Chandler's development has been a mere byproduct of his increased playing time and D'Antoni's run and gun system. He showed flashes at the end of last year and he seems to be the same player but with more PT.

Maybe I'm obtuse but I'm having a hard time understanding what players who are interested in winning a title in the near future are going to want to come to this team in 2010.

Everybody on this team needs to be developed and taught how D'Antoni wants to play, on the chance that they might still be on the team in 2010. It's a lame copout to say that there's nobody to develop so why bother.

well we'll see what gallinari, chandler and our upcoming #1 look like by then. and if we lose curry and jeffries we might still have lee. and if we can sign 2 fa's instead of 1, i think lebron/bosh/wade/amare would want to get play together in some combo. especially in nyc. and for d'antoni.

We have no choice now. We had a chance to try and win at the beginning of the year and cash out in the offseason. That would have done something for the franchise.

Now the knicks will stink this year................. and next year. Hopefully we can sign somebody in 2010 coming off of what looks like 3 straight 20 win seasons. I would trade Lee & JJ2 for Bayless and outlaw. We should blow it now.

Does anybody have a link to that article that torn down Steve Nash and was titled something like, " Mike' Dantione ruining the NBA".

Gallinari I really don't have an opinion on because I've never seen him play though I find his back injuries very troubling.

I think it's going to be near impossible to entice a good player from leaving their team that will probably be doing better then the Knicks to come here for less money and on a team that has almost no players. Because the Knicks would be starting from scratch in 2010. This isn't going to be a Boston situation because we lack the talent and draft picks of their situation and it's not as though we're a few pieces away from winning a title. So what's the sell pitch to free-agents and other GMs?

Winning now does nothing for this franchise.

Not to mention we were NOT going to win this year with this roster. Man have people been blinded by starting 6-5 against a slew of horrible teams all with major injuries or WHAT?

This team at best would have 2 or 3 more wins at this point if we kept Jamal and Zach. Oh, wait, actually...we wouldn't because Zach has been on the shelf for weeks and Crawful has been shooting under 40% since the trade. So there went that.

Seriously...enough with the notion we were a powerhouse team with those two. It's almost comical now.

We're tearing down the roster because we had to. Walsh gave the standard PR lip service that we'd try to compete in the meantime. Guess what? We actually are trying to compete. The thing is the roster just isn't good enough to win any games! Go figure! We're tearing it DOWN!

We aren't going to start building the new team until the summer of 2010 folks! Get used to that and in the meantime stop pretending Isiah's 23 win team was going places prior to the trades. It wasn't. The 1-3 skid after the 5-2 start (again, against HORRIBLE teams with MAJOR injuries as well) should have indicated that to you! Zach and Jamal were on that 1-3 skidding team ya know!

Walsh needs to trade Curry and Lee and try and get more draft picks for younger prospects. This year is a lost cause. Start the Miami tank job and hope that we can get Griffin in the draft.
