Several sources with knowledge of the situation have told TKB that the Portland Trailblazers are getting serious about trading for David Lee.

Blazers ownership thinks Lee is the perfect 6th man, who will be 26 in April and can be part of their long term plans. As we know Lee has leverage because he doesn’t have to sign with a team he is traded to, but playing in Portland with their young core would be very attractive.

If the Knicks get Sergio in this deal I would have a minor heart attack...this guy is the perfect match for D'antoni....and a guy just aching to breakout.

no but we're hearing a third team would have to be involved. There's rumors going around of a 3 way with the Clippers, but nothing confirmed. I'm still working on that one.

Nothing imminent but starting to smell the wood burn. The Blazers have been dying to make a deal for months and covet Lee.

hey here's a trade that would be pretty awesome for the Knicks i dunno about portland....

Malik, Lee and Roberson for Diogu, Channing, Sergio, and Webster......Lee is the best player stat wise of anyone in the trade....the Knicks on the other hand get a potential REAL starting poing guard in sergio, a Elton Brand light in Diogu, a starting Center in Channing(lmao), and a dude with potential in Webster....

Portland onsolidates the roster and gains a proven vet that can get a double double and work hard off the bench for them.

let's keep in mind that the Blazers are 7 games over .500 and making a playoff push. They are not interested in a major shakeup but could move some pieces that don't fit in order to get Lee in return.

I cant think of a better fit for New York. Segio shoots 38% from the field and below 30% on three that would be the perfect addition. If he cant beat out Steve Blake is he really a championship type point guard

I agree TKF no way he does Sergio or sergio and a pick.

If they get into discussions a third team HAS to be involved.

you can't go by the stats of guat that barely plays....the guy finally did get off the bench for a stint this year and in my opinion he out played Blake.....but then bang back at the bottom of the bench. Nate McMillan is an ass imho....

just to edit:

take a look at sergio's box scores...his minutes are sparatic. take a look at the chunk of time where he was getting consistant minutes....impressive numbers. Steve Blake is still eating of his play at Mayland.

i don't see anything going down. trading lee w/o dumping a contract would be a terrible idea.

i thought that too but look at it this way. Walsh is WAY ahead of schedule and after moving Crawford and Randolph there's no desperation to move Curry...yet.

Let Curry at least play a bit to see if they can move him. and next year his contract looks that much "better."

And JEfferies' contract isn't that bad.

I'd want a king's ransom. Or as Dj says, lets dump contracts. Can they trade LaFrentz while injured?

Check it out:

Raef LaFrentz, Channing Frye and Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Rodriguez for Lee, Jeffries and Curry.

why do they do this though....the only thing wrong is the eddy curry involvement...greg oden, curry?

Depends on how badly they want Lee. They are not giving up a lot in that deal outside of Fernandez...they don't use the other guys. I would guess Curry is more likely a candidate to be flipped in a 3 way trade assuming there is some interest out there? Does Charlotte get involved here? How about being re-routed to Charlotte straight up for Gerald Wallace? Does that help make Portland a contender this year?
