To me, he is as much of a symbol of our recent failures as Steph and Jamal. I really just don't want him on the team. He talks trash and can't back it up by doing anything but bombing threes.

To me, he is a horrible fit for Mike D's system because all he does is take bail out shots. He has worse shot selection than Jamal, at least at this point in their careers. Jamals shot selection got better.. Qs stayed the same prolly cuz no1 ever gets on him about it. How many times have u seen Q catch the ball 20+ feet out with his man all over him... jab step shoot it up brick it totally stops the flow of the offense and is a bail out play.

His defense is over rated, and honestly his "locker room presense" actually seems like more negative than positive. Have any of you seen him in these behind the scenes clips? Is he the type of person YOU would want to play with? Not me, he'd annoy the **** out of me... He talks way too much and he acts like that big brother who rags on other people cuz they are not good at what they do so he aims his frustrations elseware. I'm not a fan.

Anyone agree?

Nope. I like what he has given so far to my Knicks. He is not a superstar but who in this team is a superstar?

I wouldn't read to much inot those clips. They are edited and do not tell 1/10000 of the story of what goes on in the locker room. Judging by the way he interacts with his teammates before during and after games at the games I've been too he seems like he is very much respected and liked. Also a few days ago didn't Mike say that he was his leader in the locker room?

That being said, I'm not a huge Q fan. He does need to keep his mouth shut. He has injected himself into a few situations that drove me crazy(talking trash to the C's, bringing up Marbs). I do wish he'd just keep his mouth shut. But I don't see him as a disruption to the team outside of those incidences. He's inconsistent, and just an average player. We can definitely upgrade his spot. that doesn't make him a disruption or a cancer. To me he's one of the few guys from the Steph/Jamal era that's actually given us an honest effort.

honest effort, maybe ill give you that... sort of. And my thing about him MORE than his effect in the locker room is his ball stopping shot selection. IM just sick of seeing him jack up 3s without even trying for a better option

Shouldn't this thread be renamed "Keep N8, Lee and Chandler, and the rest go under the next speeding bus"?

I'm with you Elite. Q is terribly inconsistent. One good game followed by three bad ones. It doesn't matter though, every game you can set your watch, Q is taking 75% of the shots in the first three minutes of the game. Why? I dont know. Its like the Knicks want to try to establish him early or something. Heat check after heatcheck while we get out to huge deficits in the first quarter. This has been the pattern ever since he became a starter here. Everytime Q goes up to take a shot i automatically assume a miss. Just like Malik. He should be like Malik and lead from the bench.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Harrington takes some bad shots, but he also plays pretty good D and is constantly up beat. I dont see him taking the same kind of bad shots Q does. Q will take a 3 with a man on him with out even moving... Harrington will try to force the issue.. dribble drive make something happen and get out of control. I can live with that a little bit more cuz its out of trying to make something happen where as i see Q's bad shots as just bail outs.

I like harringtons attitude and his hustle... I even really like his D so far. Remember when he hurrassed Steve Nash into turning the ball over near the sideline? I've never seen Q play that kind of D once. Harrington has some fiestyness in him on the D.. He has had a few bad games but I still like him a whole lot more than Q

Thank you, very good point. I feel like Q is responsible for a lot of our early deficits by setting the tone of chucking up bail out shots early.. and bricking them. I cant tell you how many times Q takes the first shot of the game and bricks it .. no ball movement.. he just gets it.. first possession.. brick. Sets a bad tone for the game

Anyone agree?

Sure - how about D. Lee and Q-Rich for Kleiza and JR Smith.

And unless we're playing Gulden Plate, where Lee can get layups by simply walking towards the cup, what is a better option? N8 jacking a 3? Harrington? TT? Chandler? JJ's magic vertical j in the lane? A Malik baby hook?
And I hate QRich almost as much as I hate Fudgebury and ABermanortion. Sheehit! another shekel hits his checking account.

can we at least bring him off the bench and reduce his role to that of what TT has now? Maybe that would help.. He wouldnt provide much off the bench but at least he wouldnt disrupt our first unit so much

I would much rather see Nate jack up a 3 than Q :) higher %

It just sounds like it's more of a personal dislike for his game than any actual evidence that he is a disruption. He should be a bench player that can give you some hot shooting nights from the bench. The good thing about Q is that he has accepted that role with no bickering in the past. We at the moment haven't had anyone step up and take his spot from him. When that happens he will go to the bench and be a pretty good player in that role. But I can't blame him because we have a talent issue and need him to be hot every night. That's not who he is, and he never will be. It's up to our GM to upgrade, but I don't think it's a priority at this point to get rid of Q at all costs. This notion that he is the cause of our deficits is scapegoating in my view.

As for him being an inconsistent chucker. He is. Clearly he is, no argument on that one. I place this on our GM to upgrade the position and in the meantime I accept some of these guys and their shortcomings as long as they play hard, and Q plays hard.

I would like to see Q go. I can't stand his game. No creativity in his game just to inconsistent to be reliable. One night he can go 1-10 and another he can hits threes like crazy. If anything he should be a bench player at best. Would like to see the Knicks get a legit sg to replace Q.

Bipp regardless I think we can all agree he needs to be upgraded. My main thing is he doesnt get much grief for his shot selection when I see it to be honestly the worst out of Zbo, Jamal all those guys... i really do.. I might be in the minority there but i really just see the majority of the shots he takes as bad ones. Even the ones that go in im like why the hell did u take that shot q.... sigh
I would really like to see Q Rich go away.. Anyone with me?
