Watch this... he steps onto the court and screams into Q's ear while he shoots the 3 at the end of the game.

Game was over by then but still, honestly, how did he get away with that? Even after the fact? You can't do that.

...if this was covered, sorry, I didn't see it, didn't even realize it had happened.

Either two things here--he was either telling his defender to get up or he was doing something that would warrant a stiff suspension. I'm going to have to guess the first one until proof is provided otherwise.

He was yelling at Hughes not to foul, that's why Hughes backed off. Let's be fair here, all coaches do the same. The most guilty I seen is D'Antoni who actually has to be told to step back by the officials during games because he is yelling out plays or calling attention to fouls.

I dont think the video supports that. It didnt look like he was shouting any instructions. He literally barks just as Q is rising up for the shot, and right in his ear.

Guilty as charged from where I sit, but its not that crucial tho.

I definitey agree with everything until the last sentence. Q made the 3 so at that point its 103-100, if the T is called and we hit the foul shot its a 2 point game. Then we have a good chance of the Bulls missing one free throw instead of 2, say if the bulls miss one it would be a 104-101 game with a few seconds left, AND WHO KNOWS MAYBE WE TIE THE GAME WITH A 3 AT THE BUZZER...but its water under the bridge, nothing was called

I don't see that at all. To me he clearly steps on the court and just yells at QRich.

I guess we'll never know but I find it hard to believe he's looking to talk with Hughes..... versus just being a clown trying to disturb Q's shot.

Other than the video and the yahoo article this hasn't been spoken of to know one way or another I guess.

To me, it seems like a stupid move by Del Negro. Even if he's yelling at Hughes he's on the court and disrupting the opposing player. Which is what I think his plan was all along.

Yet, I never liked the guy, ever, so...that probably factors into my POV somewhat.

No he yelled at Q to try to make him miss, Del Negro stepped on the court exactly the time Q wound up for his shot, that what's what it looks like to me, it's definitely an attempt to distract Q from making his shot, but to no avail Q made it, maybe it's why the League didn't do anything at least publicly. For all we know Del Negro was given a notice by the League about this very thing, we most likely will never know for sure.

Yeah, his body language doesnt at all suggest that he was trying to get Hughes' attention. He flexes and yells right in Q's direction. In addition, it doesnt look like he mouths anything --- just a yell or a scream that seems designed to distract or startle. I think its pretty clear cut.

But when I said it wasnt crucial, I meant that I wasnt really trying to go to war with anybody on this board over my interpretation of the videotape. Others are free to believe what the want. But if he really did that, he should be sanctioned in some way, no doubt.

Is there a coach in the league that looks worse in a suit than Del Negro? Everytime I watch him it looks like he is in a borrowed clothes.

For what it is worth, SLAM picked up on this and decided Del Negro is guilty!

Video: Vinny Del Negro Goes Bush League

"During the final seconds of Tuesday’s 105-100 win against the Knicks, Del Negro demonstrates why rookie coaches might need a primer on acceptable sideline behavior."

That's my point. He did it right in front of Q, two officials, 4 other Knick players and D'Antoni and not one of those people made an issue out of it. D'Antoni went nuts when he thought Phil Jackson was lobbying to the officials too much during a Lakers/Suns playoff series because he is that paranoid. Yet he did not say anything about this issue. BTW, I didn't hear Clyde or Breen mentioned it as well. Breen would have went ape **** over something like that.

Well, for what it's worth I never really noticed it because my eyes were on Q during the play when the game was on.

Now, after the fact, after it's been pointed out....when I watch the clip I clearly see what's going on, I now notice something I never saw before, and to me it seems like VDN went right at Q.

Do I know for certain? Nah, I wouldn't bet money on it, but I'm pretty sure what I now see is clear: VDN went at Q... and he should be disciplined for it in some way.

At this point we could just be adding speculation on top of speculation as to why nobody on the Knicks made an issue out of it. All I can do is trust my eyes and what I personally see Del Negro doing.
