I understand the idea behind this. Its just that Thomas = a young Stromile Swift. Not good. Lazy. No real skills. Just a 6'9" guy who can jump.

I think it's a realistic type scenario where both teams could benefit. I know Tyrus is a bit of a rolling of the dice but he is made for this system salary restricted can block shots + we get a pick back in what looks an increasingly attractive draft.

Fair enough. I may not agree (b/c I do think he = Stro Swift), but its a well thought out idea on your part.

I think it was telling what level of commitment Thomas had (has?) to the game when he said something along the lines of how he only wanted to go to All-Star Weekend to get some extra $$$.

NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. David Lee just put up 10 straight double-doubles and you want to pawn him off for a bust and a mid round first?

This is a better idea, BRIGGS than your Lee-to-GS idea.

The pick better have limited protection though - I'm thinking top 3 - because Lee is a very good player and if we trade him who is going to rebound like that!? Almost noone in the league! So we really better get our money's worth in a Lee trade.

A good lotto pick with limited protection --- or a decent 1st rounder coming back with Curry going out with Lee.

Otherwise you just don't trade Lee. He's a tremendous asset and all 29 other teams love him. If we trade him we're getting good stuff back!

We can't pay everyone. I think that is a fair trade given the circumstances for both clubs. Just two weeks ago Al Harrington was shooting 38% and benched for a trade and now he is playing well. Duhon was a near scrub in Chicago who nearly waived him. Tyrus Thomas might flourish here and if he doesnt--we get a draft pick that should range from 13-18 in what looks like a pretty good draft.
This is going to go back to a scenario where we better deal with a strong hand before it becomes weak.

we actually can pay everyone if we get rid of Curry + Jeffries. This is another bad trade. Who the hell gets rebounds for us? We can get way more for David Lee than Tyrus Thomas he cant even get minutes

I'm thinking more along the lines to see if David Lee can net Spencer Hawes... Lee's production for a younger guy that is seemingly on the cusp of producing. Tyrus Thomas ain't going to do **** in the NBA. I'd rather extend the QO to Lee and let him walk after that than trade him now for Thomas. Ewww.

I think that is one of the teams that would do that. I dont see them throwing in a number one though. I also see Portland giving you Webster or Outlaw for Lee

Knicks would never take Webster and Outlaw plays a position that is duplicated 8 times. It's got to be a string trade that has =value both ways. I would do Bayless for Lee

Just checked out the salaries for both Webster and Outlaw - Webster is an unrestricted free agent after this year and Outlaw is the same the year after.

If the Knicks thought Harrington could be a piece long term I would think about Bayless for Lee.

Tyrus Thomas sucks ass. He can't get into games because he sucks so bad. David Lee's value is in the penthouse while Thomas' value is in the sub-basement.

It seems like Webster isn't quite in Portland's plans anymore. I wonder if they'd settle for some cap relief for him?

Lee/Malik for Webster/Frye/Sergio

David Lee for Noah is what I would consider and a future number 1. Ty Thomas isn't a skilled player to be even considering him.

you NEVER trade big for small straight up especially when small is unproven and big is good.

I would consider Lee for Bayless + Sergio. Needs to be more than just Lee for Bayless.
