Iverson doesn't fit them....Dumars was looking at the cap room also banking on Stuckey becoming the lead guard between now and next season......

Whatever dude.....if they wanna compete this season they are gonna need a guard like Marbs. Marbs wants to dominate the ball, drive and dish. The way Marbs played in pre-season is what the Pistons need.....

I'm not trying to start a fight, I'm just stating the truth......they are trying to make Iverson be a pass first dude.....are they stupid? Denver did the same....you don't tell Iverson to stop busting ass.....he's still faster and tougher than any guard in the league.
Ust
D'antoni would be like Iversons long lost dad or something.....the styles are perfect. Duhon as the point and Iverson doing what he's done for a decade.

Now......there are trade restrictions now since Iverson was just traded.....would Dumars trade Marbs for Iverson? I mean they both expire after the year.

Add David Lee to the mix.....Lee and Marbs for Iverson and a filler.....

Detroit puts goonie Kwame back on the bench.....Rasheed back at center.....David Lee stars for them next to Prince. With Marbs and rip in the backcourt:

Lee/dyess
Prince/walter
Rasheed/Kwame
Marbs/stuckey
Rip/affalo

Dude all jokes aside.....that is a wicked line-up. I can see the styles meshing well and its a nice stop gap for this year.

Knicks? They get a shooting guard and a guy with bigger balls than Nate. A guy that wants the shot when the game is on the line.

Hey its better than anything Briggs is talking bout!

isnt' that what AI likes to do, only 10 times better than Marbs?

u wanna get AI, a more realistic proposal would be something like Harrington, Nate & Malik's expiring IMHO... i don't see any team willing to give up anything of value in any deal for Marbs at this point... he's just too much of a chemistry killing cancer to be worth anything more than a vet minimum contract.

Marbs is far, far off AI's level at this point. There was a time when it was close, but Marbury has fallen off a cliff physically way more than AI has- which is surprising given the way both of those guys are built.

Eh. As crazy as it sounds, Dumars would consider it. Not now though. If the Pistons show no signs of improvement and fall further behind Detroit and Cleveland, Rip and Sheed will go whining to Joe as usual, either throwing Mike or AI under the bus just like they did Flip and I doubt Joe wants to fire another coach so soon.

If Joe doesn't see them winning the east, I can see him trying to flip AI since they really have no intention of re-signing him anyway. And we all know who's the only person with an exact matching expiring deal. But I don't see the Knicks or Steph willing to wait until after the break. It also seems like Joe and Wes had an agreement on this deal anyway given the timing.

On the Knicks end, Duhon is almost as close to the perfect point guard for AI's game as you're going to get. He's got the right attitude to mesh with Chuck, but now you're taking opportunities from guys like Robinson, Chandler, Lee and Harrington, two of whom are in a contract year.

Plus, AI's been in Detroit all of a month and is already getting caught up in the casinos and strip clubs. That's a lot of 25-30% shooting nights in NY.

Alan Hahn suggested this on his blog but only as a personal suggestion, so its not like something is being discussed. But it could have some chance of happening if the Pistons keep underachieving.

For this to happen, the Knicks would have to keep Marbury at least until the deadline.

Iverson is garbage and now you use Lee to get him? Wow, no way.

Iverson is a whiny little bitch who does nothing but screw up his teams chemistry. He's another Zach,Crawful,Marbury - ball dominant arrogant POS that his teammates hate. He's already destroying the Pistons.

We finally have a no-ego team here, players who share the ball, players who all like each other, and we want to **** that up by adding Iverson!?

Good god indeed

Cosmic - I don't want the developing confidence of the new Knicks to suddenly shrivel up and defer to any so-called "savior". I don't care how good he appears. And that includes any deferring to Lebron James.

It will never happen, but the best scenario is if they moved AI to the bench and signed Marbury as the starting pg. Have Iverson backup Marbury and Hamilton and shoot all he wants. That would help their lackluster second unit. Marbury is more of a pg than Iverson although neither is great at being a passing pg.
Trust the Process

Marbs would mess that team up and I think Iverson would mess this one up. Just my opinion.

I don't know- I could see if Iverson were traded again, he might be less problems for us that Marbury is now. I mean, he might not practice on Thanksgiving, but D'Antoni could ask him & expect him to play.

Iversons teamates loved him in Denver.....they all were almost in tears behind it.

It would have to be an extream thing for this to happen....that's why I included DLee, cuz they have the money and the need for him next year.

I'm about to post my other thought in Fishy's thread.

I want no part of Iverson. Come on. And to throw in Lee for kicks? No.

Iverson would be playing... Marbury isn't part of the team... the team has already written Marbury off and he really isn't a distraction, but more of a story for us fans to gossip about. Iverson is the quintessential anti-D'Antoni player. He'll dominate the ball, disrupt what's going on in NY, and he'll mess the team up *that* way, not by being a jerkface.

We really want to make the playoffs this year?

This year is to break it down. Next year, when we don't have a pick, is when we want to make progress and clear cap space.

This year is about the tank, grow the youth.

Gotta get gallo on the court!

While I agree, Knicks management doesn't, unfortunately. They should try to get the best pick this year and move the veteran players (TT, Harrington at this year's deadline for youngsters and picks. But I guess D'Antoni we make sure we compete hard enough so we come close...
