I can't stand Mark Jackson either. For whatever reason, the guy just gets on my nerves.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

When the Knicks buy out Jerome James I expect this same level of outrage from mark and Berman and others.

I still do not understand why Marbs deserves any more consideration from JJ. At least JJ didn't completely torpedo 2 seasons with his actions. If anything, JJ deserves more respect from D'Antoni

Players will always defend another player above the organization.

Is Qrich the exception that proves the rule or just the exception?

QRich got called out on his comments by Chris Webber and Gary Payton for that very reason. And Gary CAN'T STAND Steph.

What you say or do behind closed doors is one thing. You can beat the **** out of the teammate you can't stand if you feel like it. You can say whatever you want to his face, behind his back, whatever. But the NBA is a fraternity and most of these guys believe that in a situation between a player and management (notice I didn't say in a situation between 2 players), you never give in to the media's interrogations even if you absolutely hate the guy.

Do you really think Lee, Duhon and Crawford couldn't have called Marbury out in their public comments? But they didn't. Even Larry Brown didn't take the bait publicly.

Keep in mind, most NBA players will naturally side with a player in disputes with management because they know that can easily be them one day and don't want a precedent to be set in these types of situations. The NBA probably has the most active, tight union in pro sports.

Not to mention, Q is not the most liked guy in the fraternity anyway, but that's another story for another day.

NYsportsfan, Q always seemed like one of the more likeable guys amongst the Knicks players. What is the dislike for him for, across the league? Not that it matters.

I'd bet that it can have something to do with how vocal and ****y he is while putting up such trash numbers and performing so inconsistantly

Vocal part, maybe. Bad numbers. I doubt it. He's a veteran who can help any team and is a tough guy.

Marbury Still An Issue For the Knicks
By Chris Sheridan | ESPN.com

NEW YORK -- Levity was in short supply, and Donnie Walsh's temper was at the boiling point Tuesday night as he half-pleaded, half-implored the media pack surrounding him to ask about the Portland Trail Blazers instead of the subject that will not go away.

"I'm finished talking about Stephon Marbury," he said, repeating a statement he had already made a minute earlier.

An uncomfortable silence descended, and it was incumbent upon someone to keep Walsh from storming off -- even if it took some attempted levity to do so.

"OK, Donnie. Here's a Portland question: How do you think Jerome James will do tonight defending Greg Oden?"

The stare that came back from Walsh cannot accurately be described as a death stare, because Walsh really hasn't had the death stare working for him since back in his playing days at Holy Cross. But it was a stare nonetheless, and if Walsh found any humor in the question, he didn't let it show.

"The Portland Trail Blazers have a great team, it took them a long time to build it, and I can now understand all the wrath they went through on that road," Walsh said prior to Portland's 104-97 victory over New York, the Blazers' fifth straight win.

LOL! that's pretty damn funny.

NYsportsfan, Q always seemed like one of the more likeable guys amongst the Knicks players. What is the dislike for him for, across the league? Not that it matters.

Q's got friends around the L, don't get me wrong but he is polarizing. 99% of the Chicago cats in the L stick together (just like the west coast dudes, the Seattle dudes, the DC dudes, the country dudes, etc. Only the NY dudes aren't that close, go figure) and he balls at Attack in the summer so he's not the most hated dude in the league. NBA dudes run in crews just like most guys from their demographic.

1. Jealousy. Guys feel like he has yet to "deserve" anything. He got "lucky" ending up in LA and then when he ended up in Phoenix with Nash inflating his numbers. There was a lot of "Anyone can step out and chuck 3's playing with Steve. That aggin ain't ****." I disagree since Q, hate him or love him does have NBA talent, but when you don't like a guy for other reasons, you'll find any reason to hate.

Beyond the Phoenix thing, and don't ever underestimate how petty NBA players can be - Q's always received hate over being one of the original guys signed to a Jordan Brand contract. He only got it because he balls at Attack with Tim Grover, MJ's trainer. Again, don't ever underestimate the bitch like behavior.

Then there's playing in LA and NY. As bad as the Clips were when he was there and as bad as the Knicks have been while he's been here, a lot of middle of the pack guys on the same tier as him would kill to play here or in LA for a little shine, the lifestyle, etc.

2. Brandy. A lot of guys viewed him as a groupie off that situation especially since Brandy's been around the block a couple of times in the NBA. That whole situation is way too gossipy for an NBA board, but the gist was that Q was playing Capt.

3. Rumors about his preference. No further comment.

4. Some feel like when Q is getting his, he's all about team. When he's not, he's all about Q. ie: when he got to NY, bashing D'Antoni for not letting him "play his post up game" and declaring Isiah as "his guy" claiming a Chicago allegiance only to turn around and get into fights with Isiah during games and practices and then hop back on D'Antoni when he came to the Knicks.

5. Guys think he's just a loud mouth. Obviously this latest situation doesn't change that perception. Truth be told, he really doesn't ever STFU, but it's never really bothered me. Then again, I don't have to play with or against him.

Some guys don't think he's a real leader and think he thinks he's better than he is. He's not the only one in that boat though. Guys will always consider a "leader" on a bad team to be fake. Plus Q talks A LOT on the court. Guys dealt with GP and Sam Cassell because when they talked trash, they did it a certain way and had fun with it. Q's got a chip on his shoulder out there. Some guys have said they wonder what Q's problem is and view him in the same vein of a Kendrick Perkins.
