Tim Thomas is averaging 14pts and 7 rebs....off the bench

Al Harrington is averaging 24pts and 9 rebs!!!!

btw....jamal crawford is doing 15ts, 5 rebs and 6 assists so fa as a Warrior....

ok so does anyone thing Harrington is good enough to maintain a 20pts scoring average for the season?

no i don't think he'll average 20 a night for the season... probably will put up more like 18 & 8 type numbers & will flow nicely in this uptempo style offense, which i'll take all day & twice on sunday.

Wow. Did not know TT average is that good.

I think Al can keep up scoring average and rebounding might dip a bit.

Zbo in 2 games is averaging 17 and 8.5. He also had a monster game last saturday with 27 and 13 helping Clippers win against the Heat. I am happy for him.

Harrington was Sir Chucksalot in the first two games. I'm not sure he should get the shots he needs to average 24. I doubt he averages 20 on the year. I think more likely we'll have 3-4 guys in the 15-16 range.

Al is also shooting a horrid 40% from the field. Thats Crawfull territory and even worse for a big man. He needs to stop breaking the offense so much and take better shots.

Yeah is percentage is down but I like the shots that he was taking. He was not chucking up 3 pointers like Jamal. He was going to the hole and trying to make things happen. Once he gets his legs back we will see his %age go up. Also, he is averaging 4.7 FTs per game in the first 3 games and making all of them. Not saying he will make all of them but he has always been a good FT shooter. I see him averaging about 7-8 FTs per game. He just attacks the rim with ferocity kinda like what Sprewell used to do. I think TMS said this but, I like the fact that he some dawg in him. We haven't seen this in a long time.

he hasnt taken bad shots....all the shots he's taking are withing the flow of the offense. Teams are gonna scout the Knicks and that should effect Harrington, but the Knicks still arent 100%. Jared Jefferies and Mobley.....even Curry cuz we don't know his fate.So the Knicks season will be constatly evolving.....

The confidence of D'antoni along with his offensive genius? It's all positive for us fans.

I thought he was way out of the flow vs. Cle and forced a few against GS. But overall against GS he was much better and I liked the way he finished inside.

Harrington is one of the few Knicks who can create his shot. That, in the context of the D'Antoni system, is a huge plus provided he keeps his head up. What Walsh remembered from the skill set he drafted was the versatlity off the dribble.

Just take a ride in The Wayback Machine and peep the creativity of Anthony Mason at point forward, without the original barbershop patterns cut in his dome.

Having another dude to advance the ball is a good thing. It changes the dynamic.

Just add a sweet-shooting 6'7 off guard (see draft prospects - or cameo The Mayor at the two) with some size and stir.

I think Harrington will hover around that mark, but that's not why we got him to begin with. I am impressed that Tim is doing well though. I am a little surprised and he is the bonus here. Not to mention, he brings some D to this team.

You also beat me to the Tim stats ma man! I noticed that while looking at the stats and was going to make comment on it, but you did the right thing in bringing it to the forefront.

Oh he was taking bad shots alright. He took a 3 pointer with 3 Warriors under the basket, and NO Knicks up the court and that's just one example. He's definitely a chucker and we need to get that out of him. He needs to learn to put his shots up, in the flow of the offense. Jamal was doing a good job at that, so hopefully Harrington can too.

I also think this team is just about back together on the same level and it will start showing more as we go forward. There's always an adjustment period when you have major changes on a roster and it just takes some time to get it all together. These Knicks are going to be just fine. And I think, a little more competitive also.
I'll never trust this' team again.

4949 - what you said.

There will be plenty of "I told you it would never work" moments this week, with Portland, Cleveland (back to back) and Atlanta (Friday) on deck.

This is a second pre-season for the new new Knicks. Expect the lack of depth to become more apparent on the road where the adrenaline kicks in at lower dosages.

Forget the wins/losses over the next month.

Chart the turnovers, note points in the paint and celebrate smoother defensive switches.

Well, you have to remember that before Harrington came to NY, he hadn't played for almost 3 or 4 weeks, plus he was thrown into the mix after having to travel to NY to take physicals, then to Cleveland to play while the team is shorthanded, all of this while the pressure is on for him to make an instant impact on this team.
I think Harrington has done well for having to deal with all of this, and fit in very quickly, so I would cut him some slack, for those who want to call him a chucker or things like that, it's too quick to judge him that harshly.
He just wants this team to win and they have only used 7 players, so there are going to be alot of shots available for Harrington and everyone else.
The team on Saturday took over 100 shots, with just 7 guys, so yeah, Harrington took alot, so what's the big deal, it's what the Coach wants and it's what the defense or lacked thereof gave to Harrington and the rest of the team.

I certainly hope Al doesn't average 20+. The Knicks will be a cellar dweller if that happens. What's best for this team and really the only chance this team has of making the playoffs is to have as many guys as possible hit double digits

Cant overreact too much... The Golden State game was a stat padder for sure.

I think once these guys get acclimated with one another, everything will be just fine. Harrington seems to be an upgrade over Crawford from the small sample thus far.

The guys are doing well, as expected, because we dont have any more players right now and, lets face it, they are good or useful players (yeah, even Fugazy!) and always have been.

We have too many Forwards though... the only position we are not shot handed at the moment.

We have seven guys averaging 10.9 or better right now. We have a well balanced scoring bunch right now. I see no problems in that department and the beauty is, it's only going to get better.
