Its been reported that Donnie Walsh does not agree with buyouts. There is growing speculation that Miami wants to move Shawn Marion (WHY? I haven't figured out yet) Portland is in the market for a veteran point guard. I know that Al Trautwig said the Knicks can't find the salaries to match up for any trades with Steph in a one on one. So maybe a 3 way is the way to get something back for Marbury and help our efforts in trading away his salary

Miami trades: Shawn Marion
Heat rec: Eddy Curry (c), Sergio Rodriguez (pg), and Channing Frye (pf)

Portland trades: Raef Lafrentz, Sergio Rodriguez, Channing Frye or any other cap filler.
Trailblazers rec: Stephon Marbury (pg) and a 2nd rd pick from NYK

NY trades: Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, and this years 2nd round draft pick
Knicks get: Shawn Marion (SF) and Raef Lafrentz (c)

hahaha, I get it poppin but that ain't why i made this trade idea...

Nahhh really, its not as bad as it appears. We get the D'Antoni guy... we get a center, but most importantly... we get cap space. Both guys have contracts that expire at seasons end.

D'Antoni saves face by having a team that can compete for the playoffs. Think about it. It is a win win for all parties involved. If this was more than mere fan fare, mock trade scenarios and was a realistic trade option.. I think it would make sense. Again I could be biased because I created this thread! lol

Portland would be crazy to trade for Dinglebury. Nobody wants this guy. He will be like Latrell, noone will touch him.

Any team that has playoff aspiration and lacks a point guard will surely want to get a guy like Stephon. Especially if its a rental like this would be.

There is no reason to trade for Steph when you can sign him for the veterans minimum for the rest of the season in a week.

Haven't we played this game the past week and the week before? At this point I still don't think Walsh wants to buy out Marbury. He will probably just tell him to stay home and keep him so to see if he can get a deal done before or at the trading deadline.

^We shall see. A GM that trades for Marbury would be under the microscope. A GM that signs him after being bought out would be scrutinized depending on how big a contract he is offered and signed.

Marbury has a history of clashing with coaches, teammates and GMs. Whoever signs him should be seriously considered for mental retardation.

^ But its a given that either by a trade or as a signing, Marbury will be playing for another team at some point this season. No matter how risky the player is, there is always a GM willing to give him a chance as long as they need at that position.

Not sure if that is a given. Is there a GM now that is in the hot seat that needs a PG or SG that badly?

I still find it completely baffling that there are still people that back Marbury with this kind of bravado.

Well I guess we will never know if this was the year that Marbury would change his life around, being that he was given a new clean slate from his lying coach. But Marbury will be picked up by another team and guess what? He wont let the new coach down.

The season progresses, teams start to get ready for a playoff run, may lack depth at PG and Marbury, being a one year rental, wouldn't be a bad choice. People called Zach a cancer and he was traded. There will always be someone that believes that a change of scenery is all that a player needs and nobody questions Stephon's talent. For a playoff run, why not?

LOL...Marbury has been given a clean slate dozens of times.

When LB was hired, Marb proclaimed we were going to the playoffs. Of course he and LB had a falling out. Enter Isiah, Marbs mentor and father figure. Clean slate again. But Marb was quick to dirty up the new slate when he quit on his team and mentor when he hopped on a plane in Pho headed back to NY.

And lets not forget the clean slate he got from Byron Scott who in turn shipped out of NJ, the clean slate in Pho when D'Antoni shipped him out, the clean slate with Wilkens unti he crossed him, etc.....Please how many clean slates is he going to get? Hoepfully these slates arent made of plastic because if they are, Marb is soley resposible for filling land-fills with materials that are going to harm the environment. Yes, its Marbs fault..

He will surely put any coach down... in the track.
Steph should go and sign somewhere in Italy.
In NBA he is a representation of moronic all-around loser.
Nobody wants to touch sh...t; because it stinks.

I think is more personal for the people who dislike him. Maybe they dealt with a kid like him growing up who was ****y and arrogant, maybe in school or the courts..you know the one all the girls liked. So some simple guy like us would take it personal, and not him for that reason.cause the dude when he's on the court he plays his heart out, doesn't has to be friendly with his teamates as long as he plays, hey some guys are just different...

he will do as he's had a pattern of doing his entire career... he will go to his new home, act like a professional & be the model teammate for a few weeks, or if they're lucky, a few months... then eventually he'll go back to being the selfish player we've all grown to love & start acting like a lunatic & causing a distraction at every opportunity... this is who he is, for better - or in his case - for worse.

Well i have not heard of any them coach's winning any championships after they got rid off Marbury. And the case with Isaih and Marbury,he spoke the truth in court. plus all you guys were so happy that Marbury was not playing and looking like a fool and now you want him bail the team out cause they are short handed.
