When will all this drama finally end and when can we get back to focusing on basketball?

Its just for one game and he was told to stay away unitl monday. How about stay away until, we figure out a buyout. Surely, he will appeal the suspension.

They keep handling this wrong. Why not just tell him from now on to stay at home?

I think they are going to attempt to take away salary from him anyway that they can in hopes that he realizes he will not get paid in full.

Well deserved suspension. Does Marbury actually expect us to believe that the coach is lying to everyone? Who has more credibility here? Please.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

... so the bottom line in all this is that Marbury is hanging his hat on the difference between "refusing" to play and simply declining the offer to pay... What a doooooooooshbag

The dollars saved on a buyout isn't worth all of this. Waive Marbury, sign a young hungry guard thats looking to give his all and move on.

As much as were complaining about Marbury trying to stick it to the Knicks. Walsh & D'Antoni need to also stop trying to stick it to Marbury, just cut ties with him. This is the last yr of his contract, whats the problem.

If you ask him to play at this point how is he going to help this team? His teammates don't like him, its probably going to lead to fights in the locker room, the way the roster is constructed there is going to be blowout losses causing frustration.

Cut Marbury & Rose, upgrade them with some hungry NBDL players and lets focus on basketball. James to if you can't get that medical exception thing which should have happend already so it doesn't seem likley.

When have you known Marbury to lie about anything?

I could see them trying to trade Marbs and/or Rose for players that have deals that run through next year.

Stackhouse comes to mind.

That's why they don't want to waive him. Plus Marbs is probably killing Roberson in practice. Wouldn't want to give hoim away and have him play well for another team.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I agree, I don't agree with Walsh's handling of the situation at all. I don't like the way Dantoni is handling it either. I think it's mostly his fault for now coming out and admitting he wouldn't give Marbury a clean slate.

How clean a slate are we talking here for mr. Truck sex?

The players on the team hate the guy. Do you want to support Steph and kill the team just to give him a "clean slate"?

D'Antoni is trying to manage a bunch of crazy personalities. I'm amazed he's done this well.

I am sick and freaking tired of hearing about Walsh and D'Antoni not handling this right.

Marbury has burned bridges with Lenny Wilkins, Larry Brown, he even got turned on by Isiah Thomas. Players hated him in Minnesota, in New Jersey, Phoenix and here. Let's see the list of players who have commented on him in the past. Kevin Garnett, Amare Stoudamire, Keith Van Horn, Quentin Richardson.

This guy is the cities BIGGEST LOSER. And people are saying Walsh and D'Antoni are handling this wrong? Amazing. When James Dolan was REFUSING to buy him out? I am disgusted by people defending him. While on the Knicks he hurt Wilkins career, Larry Brown's career and now is hurting D'Antoni's. When does this stop?

Nobody is denying Marbury's sordid past but that doesn't absolve Walsh and D'Antoni for handling this situation extremely poorly.

PhilinLA is right on the ball... it's pretty clear coach and GM were planning to send MArbury walking over the summer, but Dolan put a stop to it.

How so? D'Antoni wants him gone. This guy is a punk and ruins every team he is near. Walsh can't buy him out because the oh so intelligent James Dolan didn't want to.

How would you, oh so wise Islesfan, have handled it. Played him? Cow towed to him? He's a might NBA player with a max contract! He deserves a starting job and big minutes. Doesn't matter he's a cancer on the team. Or that every team he is on loses. He's the MASTER because he's the PLAYER. Coaches, GM's, Owners GET IN THE BACK OF THE LINE. THE CANCEROUS THUG NBA PLAYER MARBURY HAS SPOKEN AND HE WANTS TO BE A STARTER.

I am so stupid to think GM's and coaches should have ANY authority in this league. It should be all about players like Stephon Marbury. They've done SO WELL making the NBA what it is today.

They will badger him until he accepts a lower amount.

His "stick it" comment might have done himself in and the suspension might have merit with no pay.

This is a moral issue, why should he be allowed to destroy and get his full money?

Phuch him, and I would not worry about the team. The utes will get development run and the most important thing is getting a high lotto pick.

I not even buying league pass for now. Games are not worth it.

Mike and Donnie are blowing it up. Good thing!

Anybody want to put a friendly wager up that Marbury wins his file of grievance?

Shades of Isiah vs Marbury on the team plane circa 2007-2008.

Good grief do we have another incompetent GM and coach concerning the Marbury issue.

Simple. After training camp and preseason, tell Marbury he's no longer in their plans and exile him while still paying him. Just like Portland did with Stevie Franchise.

The problem started when D'Antoni pretended that Marbury had a role and then DNPed him for a few games before finally realizing how much of a distraction that was going to be and then telling him that he was no longer in their plans. Now he tells Marbury that he wants him to play?!? And Walsh keeps pretending that this is the first he's heard of the situation and chooses to do nothing about it until after it's gone this far. To say that that's handling the situation poorly would be generous.

Let's pretend that DAntoni did the same thing to another player, without Marbury's history. Would you still think that he handled the situation properly?
