Yeah so he's only played one game.....he might be out for the season......may need surgery, and possibly should have had it already by now.

Elite got the DJ Augustine thread, and Bayless was mentioned and always will be mentioned with Gallinari cuz of how he was passed on.....

Al Harrington, Tim Thomas, Wilson Chandler, Q-Rich.....even if Gallo were to be healthy......where exactly would he play now? In 2010.....Lebron??? Where does Gallo fit then? @ PF? I dunno but when will he be able to guard big dudes with a gimpy back?

Yeah......so I like the Kid and his game has good potential.....but the pick is looking suspect right now and for the remainder of his contract.

I'm not down on Gallanari yet, he hasnt even played. So he has an injury.. So what. It happens, as long as he heals completely its no big deal. Hes still young.

The one thing that does concern me is he seems to play the position that we don't have a need for. a Bosh/Chandler/Gallanari(at his potential)/Lebron front court does sound awfully nice though

Yeah I agree - Oden was injured and you heard the same bust talk about him. Now he is back and starting to put it together and other teams are wishing they had him.

Nobody called Oden a bust. He was the number 1 NBA prospect coming into the draft and off of a National championship game before he got hurt................ can't say the same about the kid we got.

Actually, I have seen some writeups wondering if Oden was snake bit, injury prone and could be a potential bust. ESPN even had a chart of his body parts that were injured. They were hinting on maybe the same situation with Sam Bowie.

Our society is a society of "What have you done for me lately?" Gallo was a lottery pick that is injured right now. Being drafted by the Knicks and having the biggest douche bag writers (Berman) in the world does not help with how the pick is being viewed.

Dang..what the heck am I saying?

Anyways, Gallo will be fine. He is young and has a lot of potential. I am still happy with the pick. Bird Lite baby!

This kid played one game and showed he had more talent than our whole team. He is not Skita or Lampe. He isn't Dirk either. He will find a medium, with a ceiling of Hedo Turkoglu. In a semi-crappy draft like the 2008 draft, it's not a bad pick at 6. Augustin and Brook Lopez could have been picked but Gallinari has more potential than both of them.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yes, many did call the pick a bust because, wait for this, he couldn't play in his rookie year because he was injured. Many wondered if he would ever be able to play the game, haven't we heard this? While other rookies were on the floor, Oden already had health problems and that scared many. Many wondered if it was a lost pick.

Please, it's ridiculous to write off young players because they have health problems in their first year. Lets just WAIT for him to get healthy and then evaluate the pick.

Just with the Lebron and Bosh talk......if the Knicks get both which is highly possible.....Gallo to the bench? I dunno if I'm ok with that.

Any thing can hapen and Lebron or Bosh aren't locks to end up in NY.....I'm hoping the kid can show at least the same promise that Wilson shows.

Who knows at this point, but if Danillo was picked to be an SF, then what about this?

PG - Duhon
SG - Lebron
SF - Danillo
PF - Chandler
C - Bosh

Its too early though...

Why would we ever be concerned with having 2 much talent. If Gallinari is good and he plays a position that other good players play than that means we have a ton of talent at one position. What's the end result? We win with a ton of talent. Or we use that talent in a trade to acquire talent at another position that could help us win.
I just hope that people will like me

Yes. He'll be shutting them down soon enough. LeBron is one of the top 3 athletic players in the league. I also really think Nate Robinson is also in that top 3.

I haven't been following his injury closely. Is there an ETA for Gallinari? Is he expected to play at all this year?

I think he has to rest for like 3 months. After that they would re-evaluate him and hopefully clear him up to play. But if he has to take a little more to fully heal, so be it.

Wasn't it 6-8 weeks? Those stories were coming out about a week or two ago. So if those docs are right -- we're looking at 4-7 weeks from now. Considering that the Knicks will probably take a conservative approach, the soonest he'll be back is February.
