...don't know if this is posted yet ...New York's chances of landing LeBron James in the summer of 2010 will hinge on whether or not they will be able to sign another star player.

Carlos Boozer will become a free agent this summer and the Knicks could have room to sign him if they deal Eddy Curry before February's deadline.

"It's a realistic concern," a league executive said of New York's ability to land another star to help LeBron. "It's more improbable than likely. I think a lot of people have to start taking LeBron at his word when he says money and marketing are not the most important factors. He's got to be contending for a championship. He can't come in and resurrect everything alone. It wouldn't be any different situation than he is in Cleveland. He wants to be Kobe (Bryant) and Michael (Jordan) and have all those rings."

...WTF??? Why would the Knicks want to do this? If that was the case we should have kept Randolph. They are the same player accept Boozer had a allstar point gaurd to feed him the rock. Let alone that he will not keep up in the fast pace offense with his bum knee. I hope this is just media speculation.

Plus I'd rather have Bosh or Amare

Where does it say anything about the Knicks being particularly interested in Boozer?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

if u could get Boozer to sign a deal at around $12 mil per (what he's due to make next year) then it makes perfect sense IMO... he's a better player than D Lee or Zach & he'd only be making $2 mil more per season than Curry, so adding $2 mil to the cap in 2010 overall doesn't really hurt us much, while it does make the Knicks a much more enticing destination for any free agent... that would also open up the gates for D Lee to be traded cuz i absolutely think that is his next move after he dumps Eddy Curry, especially if the plan is to sign up a guy like Boozer next season... this type of move makes tons more sense than trading for a guy like Gerald Wallace for example, when we already have a glut of SF's on this squad & the guy we're looking to target in 2010 plays the same position... if Boozer is looking for a max type deal then i would pass obviously... i'd much rather target a guy like Amare or Bosh in 2010 anyway.

another point to consider is the Duke connection w/Duhon... i think Boozer would fit in nicely w/this current squad... but again, i'd only do this if i could dump Curry first for an expiring & D Lee was going to be traded at some point for a 1st round pick, & if we could sign Boozer to reasonable dollars.

No one said the Knicks were interested. It just states it was a possibility. That is a posssibility I am unwilling to take and I hope Donnie feels the same way. But like GKF said, the article is from Berman, so it has zero credibility.

IMO Zach is better than Boozer. What happens when Boozer falls center court on a fast break because his surgically repaired knee gives out. Boozer game is tailor made for a half court offense. This is why he got very little playing time in the Olympics.

i agree his game is tailor made for the pick & roll, but it's not like Zach's game is tailor made for this offense either... he's also much more suited to a half court style, & while he was putting up #'s this season i can easily see Boozer putting up similar production while also playing a little better defense than Zach as well.

& again, at similar dollars that Zach was making i pass on Boozer in a heartbeat... i'm just saying if u could get him to sign at ~$12 mil per then it's a good investment to make (assuming ur also dumping Curry & trading D Lee)

Because there is nothing interesting to write about and since the Knicks have options now the media will explore each one of them throughout the year and say the Knicks are interested.

If Michael Redd can get Max dollars and Andris Biedrins gets $11 million a yr, you can bet your ass Boozer is getting atleast $16 million per.

The Knicks should be interested. They should explore all options and possibilities. And Let's say the Knicks can sign Boozer to less than a max deal. And let's say LeBron would take less than a max deal if he can get two stars into town. I know I'm talking out of my behind, but wouldn't LeBron, Boozer, and Joe Johnson be better than LeBron and Amare/Wade/Bosh?

Not saying something like that will happen, but it is something that should be explored.

Close thread.

Boozer = So easy even a Caveman can do it. Ol' Albino ass, backstabber. Rather have Zach Randolph to be perfectly honest.

Their doesn't appear to be any substance behind the statement. Its just conjecture. Between now and 2010 you'll hear about 20 players named as Lebron's possible sidekick.

And one of them will probably be a player being ridiculed by this very board right now.

Yeah, that is BS, if it's from Berman, he needs to work for the National Enquirer rather than the Post, he's a total hack!.
