But....get this....Knick throwback (to Frederick Weis) Ed Tapscott is hired as interim coach. Funny stuff.

btw, I think Jordan is an outstanding coach & if I were Ok City, I'd call him immediately.

I hate that for jordan. Grunfeld put together an incomplete team. he should have gotten them a PG that will move the ball and get easy shots for butler and jamison, the primary scorers. they should also move some of their young bigs for a big that can score and play some defense..

Trying to build around arenas and his bad knee is a joke. When healthy how good were the wiz with arenas? they are not good enough to beat lebron and the cavs, the magic are now better, I mean come on.. All of this faith in a ball hawking nut like arenas cost jordan his job.. Grunfeld or whoever is the GM needs to fire himself!!!

Eddie lasted a lot longer than I thought, and he got extended.

Your not gonna win a championship with Jamison.

Also, Arenas money is crazy.

Grunfeld might be under the gun a bit also.

I always liked Grunfeld. He never had much to work with in Washington. Pollin is a moron over there. Ernie will probably be fired at some point as well.

BTW, isn't it funny he hired an old Knick exec as his coach? I'm positive they have worked together in the past. Tapscott is a disgrace thogh.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Classic example of a GM not being able to fire the players or holding himself responsible for his own poor moves, so he makes the coach the fall guy simply because he is expendable.

Happens too many times in the NBA. The Knicks made a habit of it during the Layden/Isiah era.

They had a lot of close games this year they blew. Why didnt they play 2 bigs at a time against us to wear us down and let us dictate speed? Young didnt play nearly enough and Jamison should be moved to SF with Butler at SG and rotate Young Butler and Jamison. Look at their boxscores---it's confusing to say the least.

I cant really comment on the game in question, because I didnt see it, but putting all your eggs in damaged goods (Arenas) and fielding a team largely comprised of one-dimensional players and raw unproven talent have contributed a lot more to the Wizards lack of success than a few in-game substitutions.

Wizards suck, straight up. Red Auerbach would not have this team 10-1.

They made the playoffs 4 years running and fire the guy?

The roster is very flawed. If anyone to blame is Grunfeld. HE allowed Arenas to hold the team hostage with a damaged knee? He gets a 100mil renegotate and then pulls up hurt again all without taking a physical?

Arenas said he'd leave unless they took care of Jamison first!

Grunfeld got played!

Utes not properly developing.

Sorry, Grunny should go.

Yep. Jordan woke up this year and suddenly forgot to coach. Has nothing to do with the sorry ass roster. Not in the slightest.

I watched both the loss to the knicks and the one to the Hawks. and what stood out is lack of good PG play. Vs the hawks, dixon was horrible trying to run the point and made some terrible decisions. Vs the knicks dixon again got put into a blender , then chopped and screwed by nate.. LOL

butler and jamison have to create their own shots. they need a PG and a big man who can play. Etan thomas is trash and doesn't count... I like nick young a lot and he should be getting most of stephenson's minutes..

Grunfeld did a horrible job, giving arenas all of that money was career suicide, IMO

Arenas suck that guy is so overated and for some strange reason that Allan Houstnized the team by bidding against themselves. I guess losing in the first round of the playoffs every year is worth the money. The could have just signed Duhon/Gordon/Turiaf for the money they gave Arenas and it would have made them a much more balanced team. Letting Jamison walk or trade him and making a run at Josh Smith would have made some sense.

GM's never cease to amaze, and the coach that gets fired after getting them to the playoffs with no center, pg or sg gets the ax

on realgm, we were suggesting they go after someone like felton(expiring deal) sign ben gordon and let jamison and arenas walk. Trade blatch for a pick if you can...

Having butler, nick young , Mcgee, Haywood, ben gordon and felton would not have been bad at all. A lot of balance and cap room to play with..

THe only logic behind Arenas opting out was they had a handshake deal to do it and the owner honored it.

Just Like I believe we did with H20 when we obviously overpaid.

I think Eddie was there before Grunfeld was and usually the GM wants his own coach eventually.

Polin is not the greatest owner but he is honorable.

The reason Washington is so bad is that they don't have a serviceable center. Their inside game is shot both on offense and defense. They can do without Arenas chucking but Brendan Haywood held down the middle allowing Butler and Jamison to do what they do.

Nobody is stepping in and filling Haywood's role, not even the unstoppable Javale McGee!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
