D'Antoni said he offered Marbury to play tonight and he turned it down.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

And Walsh likely offered Steph 18 mil to play somewhere else and Steph said no. Me thinks Steph enjoys feeling sorry for himself.

I think he enjoys wearing a suit every game to sit on the bench and pretend to care about the team.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Distractionbury was offered a 35 minute stint by D'Antoni and responded by saying "The team is headed in a different direction I don't feel comfortable playing against Milwaukee."

Marbury is not commenting on that at all. What a loser. He got owned by Mike and feels like a chump.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I think it was more like, he'd play Steph tonight and tomorrow night (maybe) and then exile him again. Steph isn't going to be a fool for a coach that he know doesn't want him on the team and has humiliatingly made that point. I wouldn't have played either unless I was told I'd play good minutes until traded or released.

did anyone expect this guy to be a professional? let him continue to pout on the bench... the mere sight of him wearing a Knicks uniform completely disgusts me at this point... he didn't like the direction of the team... LOL! that's freakin' priceless!

I hate to say it, I agree with his position. Its ok though. At least he is being consistant. He likely would not play well and the potential for injury. He has no passion left for the team.

Im cool with him not playing.

I'm sympathetic to that argument in some cases, but not this one.

Marbury hasn't shown a lot for 2-3 years now, and he's coming off surgery this summer. For a guy who's supposedly desperate to go somewhere he can play, he might have done well to showcase himself for a couple of games rather than sitting glumly on the end of the bench portraying himself as too good for anyone.

I've got news for Marbury. His best bet to get signed with someone is this year when they can get him off waivers for a really low price. Come the summer, when he's a FA, and surely wanting more than he's worth, he's going to find it really hard to get a decent contract after barely getting floor time for 2 consecutive years.

His health, age and psycho history are not enticements right now. If he were smart he'd drop his pride and get placed somewhere before he prices himself out of anyone's interest.

why are guys trashing steph for playing the only hand the knicks left him.

opening night at the garden he got benched after playing all pre-season.

MDA's response "I'm playing the guys that are part of the future."

He dressed so the Knicks would have enough to play the game. Let MDA and the Future go out there and compete.

TMS you're kidding right? He wasn't part of the teams plans before, now they are short handed and now they want him to play. I don't like the guy but I wouldn't play either, they need to cut him loose already

don't get me wrong, i'm happy not to see his sorry butt on the court, at least while wearing a Knicks uniform... i'm just saying i didn't expect him to be a bigger man about it & accept the chance to show his skills tonite & sure enough he lived up to my expectation... & gimme a break w/his "I don't like the direction this team is going" BS... i guess he liked the direction we were headed when he was leading this team to multiple 20 win seasons.

Marbury's under contract to play basketball for the Knicks. Since he refused to play he should lose/be fined? for 1 game's salary! I hope Donnie does this and let's see what Marbury does when he doesn't get "all of His Money."

Stephon Marbury is the biggest cry baby in sports that I know of. I don't know of any other sports figure (in any sport) who was a bigger baby then him. Totally, completely unprofessional (jump in the truck) fool. He'll walk away with his millions but he would also walk away disgraced and walk away with zero respect when the time comes.

I don't know anyone who has had more chances to figure it out and make it right either. He got it wrong all the way to the very end. And he doesn't even know what Brown and Mike were trying to do for him. That's the tragedy.

And it just totally amazes me that there are still people here that do not ('DO NOT'!) understand the concept, the value of getting a Lebron in New York. Unbelievable! We actually have to argue with them over having cap space. Unbelievable.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I don't buy it if he does. It must have been a lot of pride to swallow for D'Antoni to even ask Marbury to play. D'A is very proud and a hot-tempered general. So I think Donnie must have first talked with D'A to approve this and convince D'A to ask Marbury. Fine Marbury double!!

Oh yeah, I remembered that one, but he already had a good thing going there and no way he was leaving it. He and he alone put that city on the map. Now they all think their world class. But it's still only 'the city that could'.

I defended him, rooted for him and at times enjoyed him, but ever since last year when he basically left the team high and dry, I have nothing but a black hole in my heart for him. I can't wait for him to go now. He had a GOLDEN opportunity to come play for his home team and be a good leader and representative of the city. He did nothing but embarrass himself, the city and the team. Now he's basically hanging around for a couple mil, which he's too stupid to realize he'd make back anyway once he signs with his new team.

LET HIM ROT!!!!!!!!
