Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics has been suspended one game without pay for striking Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut in the face. In addition, Bogut’s Foul that was committed on Garnett has been upgraded to a Flagrant Foul Penalty One and he has been fined, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 3:58 remaining in the fourth period of the Celtics 102-97 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, November 15, at the Bradley Center.

Garnett will serve his suspension tomorrow when the Celtics host the New York Knicks at TD Banknorth Garden.

The Knicks need to win this one. Luckily we won't have Curry there to get eaten alive by Perkins.

Now I'm really pissed. If Richardson had just made the fukcin' layup the Knicks would would be 7/3 and poised to be 8/3 or -7/4.

It's a big deal. They have to stop blowing leads.

This is still a tough game. The Knicks use to get blown out with just Pierce before KG joined the team. Ray Allen will be tough also to guard.

did they toss Bogut on that play? I didn't think it was that major.

I don't think they tossed KG either- and I thought he deserved it. They should use replays on those kinds of calls- I thought it was obvious on the replays...

KG has been pushing the limits with his behavior, especially taunting, all season. I think the NBA is trying to reign him in.

Yeah man when I found out KG was suspended I said the same **** to myself.

I know D'antoni got the guys in the right frame of mind and got them watching the tapes and reinforcing what they are trying to accomplish.

Anyway, the Knicks are still gonna have a tough game......Leon Powe is a more than capable player and a notorious Knick killer.

They each just got a technical foul but since Bogut had received a T earlier he was ejected. Th Buck announcers were going appsheet over this.

i remember watching that game on TV & saw KG's face after he got smacked in the mouth... he was acting all tough & hard & then got it in the chops & his expression completely changed... he looked scared.

And balls out too cuz he squared right up and clocked him straight up man to man.....and just stood there like what! He could have continued swinging but the point was proven.

A lot of these players need to be put on their asses. KG is definately one. He gets too carried away.

Garnett has been at the center of controversy a few times this postseason. In the first round against Denver, Nuggets forward Francisco Elson called Garnett "gay" for hitting him in the groin during a game.

The comments drew the ire of some gay and lesbian groups and Elson issued an apology through the team.

In Game 6 against the Kings, Garnett got into a physical confrontation with Sacramento guard Anthony Peeler. After taking an elbow to the midsection from Peeler in the third quarter, Garnett retaliated by throwing his shoulder and elbow into Peeler's chest.

Peeler, a friend and former teammate of Garnett's, responded by elbowing Garnett in the face. The NBA suspended Peeler for two games Monday and fined Garnett $7,500.

KG bumped Peeler first after he got knocked down on the other end during a possession & non foul call & Peeler gave him a quick left elbow to the jaw in response... if he'd really wanted to i think he coulda loaded up & knocked him TFO w/a right cross... these guys used to be teammates & maybe Peeler had had enough of KG's tough guy act.

KG's a passionate guy & lets his emotions get the better of him sometimes, but he's gotta learn to remain humble & taunting guys w/his demonstrative reactions to every and 1 play or foul non call is gonna grate on guys' nerves after a while.

This is what I have talked with guys like KG and Pierce winning a championship, has really let this guys think they can get away with anything, even more then they have in the past, they think they have a license to be tough guys, now that they have a ring and a trophy to show for their efforts.
Their bravado will be the down fall of these clowns, no one will put up with that crap much longer, someone will step up can take them to task, for their BS.
