Memphis was a potential trade destination over the summer for Randolph, who is aware that the Knicks would prefer to move his hefty contract. Randolph said he does sometimes consider other teams around the NBA who might have a need. "Hell, yeah," he said. "There are a lot of situations out there ... Whatever do happen, I'm going to be ready." If (or when) he is traded, Randolph said there will be no hard feelings toward the Knicks. "Nah," he said. "It's a business, it's not personal." The Denver Nuggets, who twice before considered deals for Randolph, are believed to be keeping an eye on his performance this season, as are the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls.

You can propose what you would want for him from all 3 of these teams if you wish.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I really think Zach is actually showing he has SOME value around this league which is what I figured what would happen playing under MikeD.

Zach/Malik for

Larry Hughes (cap fodder, his contract expires after next year)
Ben Gordon (would thrive under miked)
Tyrus Thomas (could play center in this system)

I just hope the Knicks don't do something foolish like Keeping Randolph if his value increases.

I don't like that trade NYK. Take out Gordon and Malik and just have Hughes, Tyrus, and a pick for Zach. Gordon makes too much money and interferes with the cap situation. If we are to trade Zach, it would be to clear salary. If we are taking on Gordon's contract, I'd rather keep Zach.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I don't disagree with you, although I don't fully agree with you either.

Gordon is a UFA in the coming year, I say we get him and immediately sign him to a 5yr/45million dollar deal. That kind of contract will NOT be a 2010 killer (would likely pay him close to 7million in 2010 since the contracts are always backloaded) and it gives us a good player to have on our team to attract other players. After this trade, we trade Lee for whatever the best package is and then work on trading Jamal. I think we'd do a great job remaking this team starting out with this trade.

I don't like the idea of trading a player as good as Zach for nothing. Zach has been playing well but its not that he just started playing well.....he has always played well as a Knick....now its just a matter of the system in place and the coaching plus the emergance of Wilson Chandler and the benching of Curry and Marbs.....

I am down to tank and look to trade away guys and lose.....but if the Knicks don't do it right away what is the point? I don't think the trading deadline is a good idea....it has to be sooner.

I'm starting to think the Knicks have to hold onto Zach as a piece to the whole bigger picture......

I say leave the team alone. Unless someone is going to overpay for Randolph why trade him. He is playing well, sharing the ball, and running the floor. He makes alot of money, but he is also our best frountcourt player. I would focus on getting rid of Curry at this point and finding a center who can fit this system.

Zach Randolph must get traded if you have any hope of getting under the cap. He makes way too much money for a guy who is not a franchise player. If we are able to get cheap young talent, picks, and an expiring deal for him we need to take it.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

if we can trade Curry & Jamal (or less likely Fishlips) then we can feasibly hold onto Zach & still be under the cap in 2010... however way u do it i think it's important we get there, regardless if we can sign a bigname FA or not... in the meantime we can keep developing team chemistry like what we witnessed tonight & improve as a unit by just playing good team basketball & using our draft pick this year wisely to take a real franchise calibre talent if one is available.

i like zach randolph for tyrus, larry hughes and a pick. either that or for noah, hughes and a pick.

i think noah is being misused in the bulls system and dont know if he'd be better here, but i just remember thinking he was such a talent in college.

How can this team trade Zach? I would have to believe their first and primary goal is to win now. How can they win now without Zach? Were going to be Jekyll and Hyde all year with jumpshooting--either we will look great or we will get whooped. Zach is basically the only guy who represents a consistent inside presence. Unless Curry came back and was able to show he could score 20 points again--I dont see Zach going anywhere this year.

if there is a good deal for Zach you have to figure we will jump. Something where we see a pick, expiring contract and good young player come back.

Trade high... these wins are huge for us. All of the sudden Zach isnt a malcontent with a terrible contract. He's the centerpiece 20/10 froncourt player on a team winning games. Thats a lot better than giving up assets just to be rid of him isnt it?

How about Noah, Thomas and Hughes from the Bulls?

I want a young stud coming back. I want Rudy Gay or OJ Mayo.

Al Thorton is another guy I would take a good look at.

I don't think we got them with the Oakley trade. I think Horace Grant was better so they knew they didn't need Oakley.

And Cartwright wasn't as good a player as Oakley, but he filled in nicely at center, and he played very well Vs. Ewing.

First of all kiss my grits!

Second, no I would not. If the Bulls trade us Derrick Rose for Malik Rose I won't take him, because I know something is up! They hose us every time!

if Danilo was healthy at all i think they'd look into it more. but i think you're right, they'd rather win now. maybe Zach gets traded over the summer after a full season of seeing him in the D'Antoni offense.

you know, with everyone saying how perfect Bosh would be at the 5 for us and how important Zach is, it's really infuriating that we didn't draft Anthony Randolph. I know you like McGee, but I think Randolph is more what D'Antoni wants on offense and he's still a shotblocker. how would a frontline of Anthony Randolph/David Lee/Wilson Chandler work for folks here? sigh.

Zach's value is just going to continue to go up. I say sell high and wait for teams to start calling. If no one bites, then I am more than happy to keep ZBo. He is really growing on me.
