Great to see the young candidate get the start and settle into a spot in the frontcourt. He shoots a high percentage because of his intelligent shot selection and understanding of game rhythm. He also defends.

Versatility.

May he remain a starter for years to come.

LOL.

I think it's pretty obvious he is Earl. He really does have some Shawn Marion in him. He can put the ball on the floor, his shot is good and improving and his defense is great. Definitely our best player.

Marion has that ugly form on his J. Wilson is smoother and stronger.

The question one has to ponder is which players can you put around The Mayor that compliment his versatile skill set. I can't help visualizing a confident Gallinari (or Channing Frye) and a seven foot fly-guy clone of Marcus Camby.

In Donnie Walsh's eyes, tonight, David Lee just became trade bait.

Just you watch.

Chandler reminds me more of a poorman's Ron Artest or another Caron Butler... he's got the size to post up in the paint, can play D (not nearly as well as Ron Ron obviously), can shoot the rock from the perimeter... he's not as athetic as Marion.

TMS - too low dude.

You cannot simply assess Wilson Chandler for where he is barely in his second season. Remember, he has barely played one third of an NBA season to this point in his career. The best means of doing a critique of him is to watch him in person as he operates off the ball.

Think Kobe without the creative license, faux Italian accent, arrogance, suspect social baggage and Jelly Bean Daddy.

how is comparing Chandler to Artest & Butler too low? those guys are 2 of the best SF's in the game... i'm talking about how they move around the court & their overall skillsets... Chandler is not really a Marion-like player... Marion is an athletic freak who's 1 of the best rebounding F's in the game & can block shots like a C... Chandler blocks shots & grabs rebounds too but not on that type of scale... even tho Wilson is athletic, he's a more physical type player w/PF like moves in the post w/nice form on his perimeter jumpshot.

TMS - I despise making comparisons. I detest comparing players at different stages in their careers. Besides, Butler has been around for, what?... 5 years and Artest is crazy.

This would be Chandlers junior year at DePaul. He is a baby in terms of experience. What happens when he discovers his voice?

He has something you can't teach. He has that mojo.

Chandler might be the reason why Lee gets traded. It looks like Mike D likes Chandler at the 4 spot. The Knicks also do not want to sign Lee past 2010.

When Chandler goes to the rack from the perimeter he looks SERIOUS.

I think more so than any of our players he really shows the most ceiling, in terms of potential.

Nate, who I like, is just too small to be as commanding as The Mayor.

With his jumper improving, and good potential on defense, he may be our best prospect for really becoming a potential star, as of now.

We'll see when Gallinari can play, but Wilson is obviously not intimidated by anyone, and has both the hops, strength, and shown the most significant improvement from his first year of any player we've drafted in a while.

i think that's a reasonable plan... Chandler's a much better defender than Lee & even tho he's a little undersized for a PF he can still body up on guys down low & has a much more refined offensive game... but we better get back more than just Al Harrington if Walsh trades Lee... at least another 1st round pick.

I think the fact that Chandler plays both ends of the court is a plus. If the Knicks can get more players that play both ends of the court the Knicks will be moving in the right direction.

David Lee is History.

“To be honest with you, I just like him on the floor,” D’Antoni said. “He’s a really good 4, a really good 3. When he’s on the floor, our plus-minus is a lot better with him.”

- Mike D'Antoni on Chandler

TMS - I don't know whether to grin at your "Obama's A Pimp" or bust you upside your head. It's bad enough that ignorant, punkazz Rush Limbaugh refers to him as a "Chicago thug". I'm certain that Barack Obama has a healthy sense of humor as indicated by his "mutt... just like me..: remarks, but I'm feeling kinda protective of a person who made history only three days ago.

I have a strong feeling 98 per cent of the residents in The District of Columbia feel the same way. If there was EVER any significant threat to The White House itself, you would witness to the largest spontaneous mob gathering on Pennsylvania Avenue to circle the property - all willing to sacrifice themselves.

Don't be messin' with The President-Elect or The Mayor.

And what a sad indictment on the Knicks that Chandler is the best player on this team... he's good, but not as good as The Best Player on The New York Knicks should be.

With more of a thumbprint than a solid foot stamp, D’Antoni tinkered with his starting lineup, inserting Wilson Chandler to be Antawn Jamison’s dance partner, to mimic his every move.

Chandler, who replaced David Lee in the starting lineup, dogged Jamison through each screen and contested each shot.

Chandler scored 17 points and was 8 of 12 from the field, while Jamison ended with 24 points after scoring only 8 in the first half.

Chandler’s spot as a starter may be temporary. Or it may not be.

“To be honest with you, I just like him on the floor,” D’Antoni said.

I didn't understand why D'Antoni didn't come back to that match up. I guess Lee had to get his minutes too but you could tell Jamison felt the difference when Chandler wasn't hounding him.

His outside shot has been my biggest concern, but I think he is becoming more comfortable taking it within the flow of the offense. I recall one moment in the Washington game where the ball was rotated to him and I'm pretty sure he hit the jumper without putting the ball on the floor. It was a smooth shot and there was no hesitation in his decision. Actually got a smile out of me.

He has been the best (only!!!) help defender on the team in terms of shot blocking. He had a great block on a Butler dunk attempt, even though he was called for a foul. Chandler seems to be the one guy on the front line who takes it personally when an opponent drives to the basket. He also had another hard foul at some point which also caught my eye. I am sick of the "whore" defense this team plays, and Chandler seems to be one of the only guys who wants to protect our "private parts!"

Hell, the guy is only 21, and he had little playing time last year. He is still learning the game and a new system, but I have not seen him overmatched by anyone this year, and he has done well in many areas of the game. He may not be the "best" player on the team at this moment, but he is putting up some nice numbers so far, and he is only going to get better as the year goes on.

I think he's a natural , most of his moves are strictly instincts and he's the most versatile player we have had in a very long time. It's crazy but i think when jefferies returns he is going to complement him big time on the defensive end.
