Let's put the cheetos and koolaid aside for a second. The dude is highly overrated. Sure he is 21 and he will be good might be even great but from watching him play I can see he does not have much of a basketball IQ right now. Countless times I see him try to take Kobeesque shots over 3 defenders. When he drives to the basket he never kicks it out for a open shot. I do not recall seeing him having more than 1 assist in a game, which is weird because this is the type of offense that allows everyone to get their APG up. It is a easy system all he has to do is follow it. Also he is our only shotblocker but so far he isn't doing anything in terms of low post defense or intimidation. A player as strong and fast as he is should be putting shots in the stands. I guess I'll keep waiting.

It would be foolish to crown him with anything. He hasn't done anything.

I'll take a wait and see approach on Chandler, but I give him more credit than you. What I see are flashes of athleticism that could make him a star. He has poor shot selection and he is getting too comfortable throwing up brikcs from the three point line. He might as well take two stepp in and get the 2 points instead of missing the three. As for assists, well, getting an assist from passing the ball isn't a guaranty...this Knick team isn't shooting that well, so I wouldn't hold too much against him.

As for the Doghouse, I think you might be bewildered by Nate's athleticism here. His poor shot selection and poor ball handling killed many rallies last night. His tendencies to leave his feet without a clear conception of what he is doing is fundamentally flawed. Next, he plays to emotionally...after he screws up and turns the ball over, he fouls the player who made him look foolish. He needs to get his head in the game and play some fundamental basketball. He talks about watching Nash play and trying to learn from those tapes, but did any of it really sink in. Also, he misunderstands the idea of being able to take a shot 1 on 5... it still has to be a good shot worth taking, not just 1 on 5.

Qrich looked good last night, but he runs stiff legged...a sign to me that he isn't going to make it through the season... keep an eye on it.

Who the hell is "crowning" Chandler? His career has barely started, we're just excited to actually see a young player with potential wearing orange and blue. People are just interested in his development.

He looks like his knee is still hurting. I think they are risking his health by not letting him heal properly.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

It really is way too early to judge him, but from what i'm seeing he's got a chance to be really good. The guy is coming out of the low expectation crowd and I think he's making excellent progress, considering how little he played last year. He's got more to work on tho. I like his talent level and I think being under MDA is gonna be the best thing to happen to him. MDA will teach him so much about the game, but it's gonna take time for it to all come together for him.

Chandler should continue to take those Kobe like shots its just a matter of time that they will start falling. Chandler will get better with more and more playing time.

After just a few games last year and 3 this season NO ONE knows how good Chan will eventually be. I just wouldn't be so sure he's not going to eventually become a good player for this team.

+1, The problem Chandler faces is that he plays with horrible point guards who have no court vision especially Nate who has been one of the biggest disappointments for me this early season. Wilson is a 2nd year player who is getting more playing time. Nate is in his fourth year and the man is making mistakes that I saw him make as a rookie (I think he is hanging out with Jamal to much). How many times is he going to jump in the air and don't have clue what he plans on doing next. It doesn't look like it matters who is coaching him and how many times you explain it to him that he will ever learn not to do it.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

VMart - what you said.

Chandler should keep firing. It is only a matter of time before he gets Zach's attempts on a consistent basis.

I have no problem with Zach shooting he has purpose with his shots. I want Chandler to take shots away from Jamal.

You guys are insane. The careers of Chandler and Gallinari are just starting. Chandler is young and will make many more mistakes as the season goes on. That's what young players do. Let's just hope he develops.

The kid reminds me of Quentel Woods. But I got hope.

let the kid develope and make mistakes. Same with Gallo.

Nate is getting a bit old to be still doing what he does. I'll give him some slack as he has had 3 coaches in 3 years, but time is running out for him due to his rookie contract status.

I trust Mike.
