Why not do a sign & trade for JASON TERRY from ATLANTA for KT. This would remove one of our PF's & give us a starting combo guard (PG/SG). This would give us the SG we need with PG abilities aswell. That would make MILOS expendable in a deal for a true center.

Next we do a ANDERSON, WARD & KNIGHT for MUTOMBO. Why it works..... We need a center & he has 2yrs left on his contract, that gives us 2yrs to get a real center. Why JERSEY will do it.... WARD & KNIGHT is for cap room immediately, ANDERSON is the only player they get stuck with & he fits in with their transition offense & can play defense.

That leaves us with C=MUTOMBO / PF=MCDYESS / SF=KVH / SG=HOUSTON / PG=TERRY. A defensive anchor in DEKE & a penetrator in TERRY. Bench of LAMPE, SWEETNEY, VRANES, HARRINGTON, WILLIAMS & EISLY.

We get rid of 4 players & bring back only 2.

sorry so long.
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!

I like your proposal. I would do this without a doubt. This makes sense to me. Mutombo I alaways liked. His defense will teach the young guys something about being a shot blocker and a presence. I think guys like Sweetney, Lampe and especially Vranes will benefit from the presence of Mutombo. He may be old but to get rid of players like Knight, Ward and Anderson this is well worth the trade. As for KT being moved is a sound idea to me I think he puts ups up numbers because he was the third option on the team and my feeling is even though he put up decent numbers at the center position he isn't a center. His value is peaked and he should be moved he won't improve on those numbers especially if Dice is healthy. With the addition of Terry the NYK team won't have to worry to much about Mutombo's scoring they would have enough fire power to make up for the lack of offense from Mutombo.

but based upon the response VMART, we are the only ones who likes the idea ..... lol.... MILOS can play or we can package him with ANDERSON to get rid of his bloated contract !!! Trade SPOON with a 2nd rd pick to get rid of his azz !!!

They will come around a lot of guys will agree to this but KT fan base has grown over the years according to some they think he is the second coming of Pat Ewing. They make KT inexpendable. For some the goal has never been about winning a championship it has always been playoffs and you know and I know that KT won't get you close to a championship as a starting center. There are off guards as big as KT and last year what I saw were decent numbers but he got abused on the defense by players who as smaller than him and some that were bigger than him. To put it this way teams had no fear of KT as a center and to me numbers are great but if a player can't strike fear in the opponents than your wasting your time with him. KT is a great role player to have but he isn't starter calibur player. KT doesn't stop players from going to the hoop he only encourages them to got to the basket.

This is the kind of win now philosphy that reeks in our roster now.

I'd soon eat a season or two and let the rookies play.

Milos is a pure point. Terry is not. Mutumbo is not durable enough to make signficant minutes, and is big contract.

This is something Laydon would have done, which is try to fix it short term.

support the youth movement and don't panic!

I like those trades but the BIG question on this one is if Terry can play the point!!! On the other hand the way i read it Milos isnt a true pass-first point eather. So we should go with Terry because he is a prooven NBA guard and let Milos develop into a real point!!!
Mutombo seems to be the only true center available for us so take him KT is expendable with our extensive glut at PF!!!
At the moment there are the european championships so i cant wait to see Milos play! Ill let u know if he does something remarkable!

Now your becoming delusional because a youth movement starts only with playing time. Adding Mutombo gives minutes to Lampe, Sweetney and Vranes respectively. Just as it gave minutes to Jason Collins and Aaron You lose KT as a center and get a real center that will log 15-25 minutes per game, this allows Lampe/Vranes to back him up and knowing that Mutombo is on the out soon is added motivation for the young. As for Sweetney this allows him to become a backup to dice. If you want the youth movement then you have to remove some of the clutter like KT, Spoon, Harrington. As for Vujanic being a pure point he ain't here so stop dreaming. Right now he is pure nothing to the KNicks because he isn't stepping out on the court for them. The thing is if you hang onto someone who has no intention of coming or just isn't convinced about his skills than your wasting his time and the everyones time. That is just what Vujanic is doing. If he wants to join the Knicks fine but if he doesn't I'm not passing up on a talented player like Terry for someone who might never come to play for the Knicks. This is not a panic move it is a soild move that has playoff implications as well as youth development. Why should the KNicks have to endure another season of lottery when they can make the playoffs and at the same time help their future by developing Lampe, Williams, Vranes and Sweetney.

I live in atlanta, I watch terry play and he is more comfortable at the SG spot than the PG spot. We need a penetrating, dishing PG not a shooting PG, that is the problem the Hawks have with terry and why they are looking for a PG, hell doesn't the fact that they drafted Dickau and now just signing Jacques Vaughn tell you that they need a PG? Why would we want terry when we need a PG, a true PG....

That's messed up!! You guys still feel the need for a PG. Give Frank Williams a chance. Last yr, he had a setback by breaking his wrist. This upcoming season should be a different story. I strongly feel Layden and the staff made a good selection when they chose Frank W. I believe in due time he'll be effective penetrating down the middle. Forget Milos!!!

honestly, i think we should try to trade thomas for a future player or/ and a 1st round pick if possible. Coming out of his best seasons, showing some potential, kurt thomas is as high as ever. Lets face it, the knicks need to rebuild and it wont take too fast without clearing up cap space. We have mcdyess, sweetney, lampe, van horn which all arguebally play the same position, 4. We have to decide in the fallling year, who will be part of this franchise's future and who we should trade for picks. We can give up these players possibly together for a financial liablity such as weatherspoon, anderson, knight, harrington. What im saying is we need to try to get our maxium return for these players and test the market. Maybe we can get lucky, teams gotton rid of huge contracts... look at washington. Hopefully we can get lucky like phoenix or golden state. We just need to realize what position we are in and deal with it. We have promising players in rookies like sweetney, lampe, vranes, milos, and frank williams. We need to get rid of contracts before we can sign them for our future.
Damn, sometimes I wish im the GM for the knicks, I think I know a little more than these guys...
tell me what u guys think.

Golden State and Washington are hardly model franchise's, especially in the last few years.

Second guessing does not qualify anyone as manager. Perhaps it quaifies to state the obvious.

you need a special signature to send that message??? come on, it's not that serious.

How about second guessing a person second guesser makes signatue writers no better.

if there were no second guessing, we would have a lot less to talk about. You seee everything before it happens. I think not.

Ice,

Its easy to rehash the obvious.

Maybe there is not that much to talk about.

Information is plentiful, Knowlege is a valuable comodity. Knowing what to do with information is the key.

I thinks sometimes the purpose of this forum is to just pick fights.
