It's the money. And I explained my view overall just a few hits above you. It's about principle. It's about time we have principle and start accounting for that. Yes, despite the negative forces on this team. But we have negativity everywhere, because we have no accountability. The entire NBA is laughing at us. We're a joke to everyone and we have to instill a culture that is going to nurture to our needs and possibilities.
Houston and Ewing's are bad reminders of the old way of doing business. We need a culture change badly. People are actually fighting over the Ewings. Think about that.
People seem to look for whatever flaws they can find, but in reality we should all be looking at the possibilities of what we have right now. It's not much, but it can be better if given the right formula and opportunity. The negativity has taken over everything.
And I have already stated that I want Marbury gone if he is 'damaging the team'. I don't care about being a distraction. He's only a distraction if people pay attention to him and a lot of people seem to be controlled by the media and what they have to say about it. Including me. It's a viscous circle of negativity. But if he's 'damaging' the teams psyche, then I don't want him here.
We need accountability. We need focus to do the right things. These are the things that are gonna get us there:
Fiscal responsibility Focus on team effort & our youth development Giving D'Antoni's system a chance to work Fan support (which I think is much better so far)
Instead, the focus's are on Jr., Ewing Sr. being upset, because Jr. didn't get a fair break. People wanting to dump Marbury without hard explanation. People wanting to get rid of Lee in trade scenarios, getting rid of Collins, people wanting to buy out some of these contracts, when we are on a two year plan, etc. etc. etc.
It's crazy when you look at it from afar. It's got to stop. Walsh has two decisions he can make at this time. Either let Marbury walk, saving the teams insanity or keeping him on the roster, at least until mid season, stuffing him somewhere were he can't be much of a factor. Minimal damage.
Question is, even if we get rid of Marbury, when is it going stop? Walsh is in an extremely hard place to be in right now.
I'll never trust this' team again.
