MDA should be applauded by fans for what he did. He laid the law down in game one and let the malcontents fully understand regardless of the outcome who is the alpha on this team and the inmates are not running the place.

Too much "Juice" was given to Marbury-Curry in the past and the players never trusted the coaches/Management. Last year Marbury was bought right back in after the players said they don't want to play with him. What did that do to the team? We were done before game 10.

Mike played this correct. He told his team that no matter what, even 34million in salary won't keep you on the floor. That gives young guys a chance to compete. Isiah by supporting his malcontents was destroying the young guys as they played hard but still were put behind.

The coach is taking control of his team first and formost. That is the biggest difference between this year and the last two. Walsh won't undermine him either.

Exactly, I love it when D'Antoni said he wants to look at the young players. He even went on to say he wanted to see the young players over Marbury because they are in the future plan and Stephon isn't.

I agree, and those stupid chants by the inbred morons at the garden were just that. Stupid. We are winning by 19 and they are chanting for the guy who has sabotaged this team the past 2 years.

I was pissed last year when marbury threatened Isiah, then was given playing time after the team voted his ass off the island. that killed our season as a team and for me as a fan... New era, Mike D is in charge.. End of story..

its OK to give players juice.. when those players are winners and leaders. KG, Kobe, Bron, Kidd have all been given big juice at different times.

I'm with Fish. Juice is reserved for coaches and stars. I personally could care less about Marbs and Curry's feelings anymore. Right now what Dantoni says, goes. That's the way it needs to be here.

of course, that is a given, you reserve the "juice" for the elite, the smart and the deserving.. Not for the pompous, moronic, and the self indulging losers...

Pompous loser. I'm flashing my juice card, to Martin, b/c you're acting like that.

It's fine that DT is "in charge" but letting the man (Marbs) play thru pre-season, letting him think he had a role on this team was wrong. This should have been addressed in or before the preseason. I have no real love for Marbs, he's a jerk but I don't like how this was or is being handled. It's not enough that you took him out of the starting lineup, now it's humiliation.

Completely disagree. D'antoni played Steph to see his abilities and to see how he can help this team (if possible) by coming off the bench. That's what preseason is for. For a coach to see what works and what doesn't talent and rotation wise. So he probably realized that he's a good for nothing douchebag, and kept him to rot on the pine.

Its amazing how quickly we forget, like in a NY minute. Marbury, along with Isiah Thomas, humiliated the Knicks organization qith one of the most ridiculous episodes of immature behavior. We forget the whole Marbury AWOL, the team voting him out and Isiah grounding him to the bench and then making him a starter after the debacle?

While Im not completely in favor of this handling of Marbury, I do think this guy has brought all this to himself. People talk about him being humiliated on the bench. Fudge that! How much did he humiliate the organization, the team, the city and even himself last season. We forget he is nuts?

If we wanted Isiah gone and got our wish, I can't understand how can we want Marbury still around. No matter how talented he is, his negativity and problematic character bring any team down.

It may not be pretty, but D'Antoni is just doing what we wanted to happen many seasons ago.

This is not a moral argument as to whom is right or wrong. This is about who is in charge.

Make no mistake, even if Marbury is to start every game the rest of the season this has to have happen. A blunt indelable impression on the team as to whom is in charge.

Marbury will be coached or be gone.

If any of you need to see a demonstration watch an episode of the show "the dog whisperer" and you see the same thing everyweek. Its about establishing who is the pack leader. Marbury does not understand a lot of things but he understands ego and has succeeded in being the alpha male everywhere he has played. I would even say that with Larry he still had the upper hand given he had dolan and Isiah to back him and Larry never got control of that team.

Guys, please stop with the I hate/love B.S. Win Wins Wins. That is all I care about. Marbuy finally gets his. fine. He doesn't get his? Fine too. What is important is that we put the best team on the floor. The rest will all sort itself out.

Let's let karma, god, or whatever take care of who gets his rightful comeuppance.

I'd rather see Marbury on the court if it makes the team better, and I'd rather see him off the court if it makes the team better (Which I don't believe is true.). What I'd really like to see is Marbury get traded for something that puts us in a better position.

All the rest is high-school stuff.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Whats all missing here is that this is all still a distraction...The Knicks won and Marbs is the headline and focus...Marbs has to be traded...It nice that MDA flashed his juice card on the court but it doesn't extend in the stands...Fans will want to see a star on the court especially if Marbs may just be the best player on the court...

I really think it was a mistake for the Knicks to start the season with Marbs on the roster...Cut ties now and move on...

ooh aah I'm with you half way. But I don't think this is about who gives you the best chance to win. This is about taking a bad team and building them to be a winner. D'Antoni is not building around Steph. He is not in the plans at this moment. Maybe he earns a role in the plans down the line, but against Miami he wasn't. He has to deal with it. D'Antoni is now teaching the young guys who we will need 3 years from now how to win down the stretch. That is what is best for us. Taking them out to give time to a 10 year vet that won't be with you next year and has never shown any ability to lead us to victories is not a good plan in my view.

Personally a better sub thatn marbs would have been putting in Malik to dive for a lose ball or throw a couple elbows than to see Marbs put his head down and charge to the basket, forgetting about the offense, in his attemp to win, while everyone else stands around and watches. Maybe Marbs dominates the game and we win. But the young guys learn nothing.

D'Antoni decided not to play Steph cuz he doesn't feel he is cut out to be a minor role player... instead of insulting him w/a 5 minute stint he chose to sit him & go w/the guys he felt have a chance of being here beyond this season... that doesn't mean he doesn't feel Marbury's worthy enough to play in this system... this is way beyond a Stephon Marbury issue, it's about the team's future... the sooner some Knicks fans realize that the sooner we'll be able to move on from discussing Marbury after every freakin' Knicks game instead of the positives that came out of a game we WON!
