-1 - 17 I predict one of the games will be a double loss.

Actually I'll go with 6-10. I think we still have an incredibly crappy team, but I think we'll have some energy from the new coach, so we may excel to 6-10.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Guess that gets to 8-8...that would be nice...The win over the Cavs will be the game of the month...104-103 on a Chandler three at the buzzer...

I am so depressed about the state of this team, I cannot even make a prediction. I had hoped Walsh would do something over the summer but I don't see this team winning more than 35%-40% of its games.

35% is 28-54. 5 game improvement!

Nah - I think they'll crack 30.

The Knicks exceeded my expectation for the month. I had them going 4-12, makes me feel good about them.

I could have sworn I replied to this thread...must have been a different one.

I figured, even though I'm a pessimist, that given the good play in preseason and the "culture change" that we had a real shot to open 4-1 (stupid bucks game) but then in the face of an increasingly tougher schedule we'd close 4-7.... ending up with a real chance to go 8-8.

I figured early on we'd lose to the Mavs but they are playing like garbage so if we pull that game out then I can see us being 9-7. Warriors aren't exactly blowing anyone away either so I guess you never know.

Yet...

Nov 16 vs Dallas LOSS - maybe win given how crappy theyve been
Nov 18 at Boston LOSS - They will Defend us and turn us into Isiah's Knicks.
Nov 21 at Milwaukee LOSS - Couldnt deal with them at home we wont deal with them away.
Nov 22 vs Washington WIN - cause, they're just ripped open by injury.
Nov 25 vs Cleveland LOSS - Bron in the Garden? Fast paced game? Yeah, get ready for 50.
Nov 26 at Detroit - LOSS - They will Defend us and turn us into Isiah's Knicks.
Nov 29 vs Golden State - WIN - We could lose this game, so between GS and Dallas maybe we go 1-1, maybe 2-0, maybe 0-2. So, split the difference.

8-8.

Much better than previous years, yet as I just posted in the Blunder game thread, it is just a stark reality that despite playing great - there is a definitive ceiling this team is highly unlikely to ever overcome: .500

Better than 23 or 33 wins no doubt about it - YET - you're never building a contender, 45-50 wins, 2nd round+ playoff team... on THIS core of players. Never. Everyone still hopes a shotblocking center and a Chris Duhon is going to mask Crawford and Zach's problems, and throw in some miracle 09 draft pick and a SF upgrade to Q... and voila Isiah's dream comes true. Just not realistic.

The path to a championship team is so tough to negotiate without a Superstar. Our chances of getting said Superstar are hard to guage, but there is a chance we can land one in 2010. You made some good points above if that was all we had in store to try to build a title contender, but that's not the case. We all know that in addition to the things you mention that we will likely do now, we also will look to get a stud FA in 2010 and that may be the thing we need to make that final leap to the top tier.

So enjoy the ride as we continue to develop the players we have and move out guys we don't need for guys that fill in the weak spots. Then in 2010 we roll the dice and see who we can get.

Damn....you are back on the "all is well" bandwagon in a hurry ain'tcha?

Will it rip your heart out if they don't finish the season at .667? I would think everyone, every fan, from the most optimistic, to the most pessimistic, would give it some more time here before declaring anything a success or failure.

Give it some bench marks. I've got some: End of November: 16 games in the books. Then, End of December. Then, All-Star Break.

Not game to game... 1-2 omg the sky is falling. 6-3 holy crap we're going to win 51 games... ETC (you know what I'm alluding to...just being overly dramatic to make the point here).

I'm so over and done with being sucked into each and every loss and victory. I'll surely comment game to game but no "final analysis" will accompany any single game. Just observations.

End of November: 16 Games.
End of December: 30 Games.
All-Star Break: 52 Games Complete.

Take it from each one forward! Why? Small samples of games never work.

We could be 8-8 after 16.
We could be 14-16 after 30. (check the sched no more cakewalk!)
We could be 22-30 after 52 Games. (again, check that schedule, cakewalk is done!)

In fact, yeah, barring any ridiculous trade out of left field that is amazing, that's my "official" prediction. Bookmark it if you will, I'll forget it lol.
