stats wise yes, but u'r a liar if ur gonna tell me he didn't show u that he was making a concerted effort to conform his game to what LB wanted out of him... that tells me he's willing to be coached & isn't a selfish player who's only concerned w/getting his stats.
I'm talking about Crawford's play. We can also measure his season in wins. I would say by any actual measurable metric he was terrible. I'll give him an A for effort.
Whether crawford was trying or not in the LB year, he struggled for the first half of the season and was benched because he sucked. When Marbury went down with the shoulder injury Crawford did not blossom. Crawford didn't actually play well until the last 4-5 weeks of that season. But Crawford has 4-6 weeks like that every year of his career. I think since Crawford had his hot weeks at the end of the season, it is looked upon as "improvement".
Then the next season under Isiah, everybody said Crawford "regressed" because he started slow as usual. That was actually the best season of his career, where he actually played like a leader and the Knicks probably would have made the playoffs had he not gone down with the foot injury.
By the way, I liked that LB benched Crawford. He deserved it because he was so atrocious. I think Crawford always tries to do what his coach asks him to do, he just is not a good basketball player, he is a street baller.
Bring back Gerald Wilkins!
