what in the blue hell has monta ellis done to warrant getting a 6 year $66 mil deal? i doubt his knee holds up for 1/2 that contract.

Gordon is gonna want the same if not more.....Deng is gonna want more than both.

Lets all just move to spain and root for real madrid or something.

He put up outstanding stats in his 3rd season. 20 PPG on 53% FG for an SG is outstanding, and 5 rpg, 4 apg are pretty good. It isn't too shocking to me that GS would rather spend $11 mil/year than lose Monta for nothing.

except Biedrins is better than Murph & Ellis is better than all of them

That contract is just.... wow.

If you are basing it on numbers Monta's contract is justified, especially since he's 22. If anything this sets the market *lower* for Gordon because his numbers arent nearly as good. This makes Gordon a 10mm $ contract tops. Show me how many players in this league from the guard poistion topped the effeciency and production of 20-5-4 53%. Gordon does make up for it a bit of efg because of his 3 point shooting but that isnt worth the extra money. Now is there some teams that would pay BG more than 50mm$ yes--in fact if the Knicks werent tight with the cash --if they paid Duhon 6 then Gordon 12 is a given.

We could offer Lee S+T 5 yrs 40mm$ and Balkman for Gordon.

ellis was the 3rd option behind diddy and sjax in a run & gun system. gordon was the primary scorer for 3 playoff teams in a 1/2 court offense. gordon in nellie's system may average 27ppg.

I would love to get Gordon, he'd be great for MikeD. He's a great shooter and he is great at the end of games. It would be weird with him and Duhon in the backcourt but oh well. I would make that trade Briggs.

i think in the Warriors case, they lost Arenas once to this exact same scenario (he was a FA after being a second round pick and went to Washington) and after they lost BDiddy to LAC, they kind of had to overpay to make sure they kept him to keep some good will with their fans.

gordon averaged something like 25ppg vs. the suns, and like 30+ppg the past 2 years vs. the suns.

I wonder how hard GMs will laugh if Gordon's agent makes that argument
