Haven't posted in years, but i've been reading everyday.

Delonte Holland is on our Summer League roster.. Don't know much of him, but I did stumble on this when I was looking for Gallinari highlights before draft day. If anyone can add more insight, please do.

Been posting on the other threads- he led Gallinari's league in scoring (I think Gallinari was around 8th).

Doesn't look that impressive. I dont like the Knick's summer league roster. I think their are better potential players that could have been on it that aren't.

he sorta moves around & shoots the ball like Vince, obviously w/o Vince's crazy hops, but at least he can get to the hole & throw it down pretty good... how's his D i wonder?

I am actually reminded of Crawford- a lot of shots from outside - lots of dribble step back 3's.

I'm not that excited, he seems like he can be a contributor off the bench.. not a 6th man option though. But he does have some skill sets to make you wonder about him. And he's a good size at 6'7. I'm not tryin' to say he's gonna cut the roster or anything... I just wanted to know if anyone had anymore insight.

What did yall think of the music video also?

Hey Biz, maybe you should put your artist vid in another thread. We can't deal with two topics in the same thread. Something like "OT: Hey - Check out my beats!"

Holland and his game against Gallinari was also talked about in the summer league thread.

To be honest, as far as Gallinari defensive game goes, I was not unhappy watching this video. Unlike all of the offensive clips of Gallinari, you actually got to see him defend against a smaller opponent who has NBA quickness. Some comments on the video...

1) Gallinari was not the only person guarding Holland. Holland was getting by everyone including the smaller guards who went up against him.

2) I think Holland got by him twice. Once when Gallinari game him the baseline, a young player's mistake, and another time when Holland made a clever move when Gallinari was watching out for a pick to his right.

3) There are a number of shots where Gallinari shows some lateral movement- keeps Holland in front of him- and forces Holland to shoot a jumper with Gallinari reacting and at least getting a hand up in his face. Unfortunately for Gallinari, Holland did not seem to miss too much that day. (Another play has Gallinari recovering and blocking a shot after another player beats him on a drive. This play also showed me something about him defensively.)

4) Holland is probably about 6'6" or 6'6.5" from what I can see. He is more of a shooting guard or swingman. and in this particular game, he seemed to be bringing the ball up a lot of the time. As someone pointed out in the summer league thread, this might indicate that Gallinari will have a tough time if he has to defend against small 3's, but the Knicks are eventually planning on him being a PF, and only a SF on occasion.

5) The last part of the video is VERY deceptive- a still shot where Holland is shooting while Gallinari is on the ground. There happens to be another YouTube video of Holland's best shots, and one of them has him playing against AJ Milan and driving into Gallinari (who actually shows some good lateral movement) and either Gallinari takes a flop, or Holland pushes him to the ground with his left hand (Gallinari complains on this video) before pulling back for a jumper. For some reason the video I am responding to now, and far as I know, does not have that play or any play in which Gallinari is on the ground. I am almost sure that the still comes from the possible offensive foul play. Strange.

6) I actually felt a lot better about Gallinari's prospects in the NBA based on the video. Much more informative to see a highlight video which does only have positive clips of Gallinari. It showed me that he does have some defensive ability.

7) Holland, who is 26, by the way, also shows some offensive ability. He is definitely worth having on a summer league team, and maybe on your regular season team if he can work himself into DAntoni's system, keep his temper under control (supposedly said some nasty things to his team's management or coach at some point or another and was suspended.), and if you actually can find a spot on the roster for him. Don't know if he can play any D, or if he is someone who can score without dominating the ball, which he seemed to be doing in this game, but he is an intriguing player and worth a long look at. I wish he was only 21 or 22.

8) Gallinari scored 20 in this game- I wish we could have seen him on the offensive end with Holland guarding him. We could have learned a lot about both of them- how Holland plays D, and how Gallinari matches up against a smaller/quicker defender.

Monday should be interesting.

Only thing is those smaller guards weren't the #6 overall pick in the NBA 2008 draft.

can I end this line of debate by saying we can all find highlights of every lotto picks dunking, scoring, beating his man as well as the same amount of video of him getting beat off dribble, getting dunked on? I mean duh.

they just showed his makes from the game. So if he was driving and missing, or not driving- either way.
