His college statline is EXTREMELY impressive, even though he just played for Utah St. Very nice shooting percentages. Seems like he was more of a scoring point though.

Posted by VDesai: I never heard of him before yesterday. He was the best Net player and he played a very aggresive game from the PG spot--look at more of his tapes he's quite athetic. He is no stand still shooter he can do many things. I cant see why at 6-2+ with his skills that a team couldnt move him to PG what a weapon this kid could be from the PG position on a team like the Knicks Again he was playing with 4 first round picks on the team he was by far the best player. All things considered (first summer league game, playing a brand new position, unfamiliar teammates/environment), this was a very successful outing for #4 draft pick Russell Westbrook. His GM Sam Presti took a little bit of heat for drafting him so early, but from the very small snippet of information we were about to gather about Westbrook, he seems to be backing him up thus far. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

While certainly not the biggest name in this game, Earl Calloway was without a doubt the key to the blowout victory this no-name group assembled by the Indiana Pacers delivered over the much more talented Oklahoma City roster. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

Douglas-Roberts looked very comfortable making plays in New Jersey’s dribble-drive motion offense, which just happens to be the same offense his team ran in college. He made a number of very impressive plays offensively, particularly in one on one situations where he was able to create shots for himself and pull-up off the dribble for a traditional mid-range shot or his trademark floater. He rarely went all the way to the basket, but instead preferred to elevate as soon as he had space to operate—which works well for him. He was extremely aggressive and at times showed that same loose handle dribbling the ball right in front of his defender that worried some NBA execs on draft night, but at the same time he got the job done offensively the way he always does, and took one small step forward in terms of proving that he went much lower in the draft than he should have gone. Sweet-shooting Jaycee Carroll showed that he can do a lot more than just make shots today, going off on a scoring barrage (19 points in 22 minutes) that had to impress anyone that stuck around for the third contest of the day. He took the ball to the basket aggressively time after time, finishing with an array of floaters and pull-up jumpers, and getting to the free throw line at will. We’re not talking about a guy that is going to stand out in a crowd as far as his looks (he’s a skinny 6-2 guy with underwhelming athleticism), but he surely knows how to score, which is probably why he was such a popular fixture on the private workout circuit in the month of June. Carroll played a lot of point guard—which is not his position as we all know by now—and did what he knows how to do best, which is look for his own shot. It was hard to fault him considering the way things looked out there at times. Defensively, he was not a presence at all, which is going to be a big concern for the NBA. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

He sounds like a new version of Salim Stoudamire. Scorer, not a PG, but very small.

Good point about his quick release. That's so important in the nba when you don't have much time to get your shot off.
He'd be useful at the end of the game when we're behind and like to bring in better shooters/scorers when we have the ball and better defensive players when the other team has the ball. Maybe we could rotate Carroll and Collins in those situations. |

Does anyone know if my man Josh Duncan is on anyone's summer league roster? I said it before and I'll say it again - SLEEPER.

This guy looks good Briggs, nice little box score find for you.
I like those videos you posted of him, he seems like a real D'Antoni PG with his shooting % and quickness, would be a very interesting pickup for the knicks, Walsh should keep his eyes peeled, as I don't see this guy making the Nets roster because of their guard glut. Briggs, Jaycee Carrol reminds me of Kelvin Martin of sac-town.

Posted by playa2: Way to much difference in size. Jaycee looks more like a Steve Kerr. He's about the same size as steve as the same quick release and high% but he's appears to have more overall game than Kerr. His efg was 9 in the nation from the guard spot. I watched him again yesterday---he doesnt look that comfortable as a primary PG but has the ability to bring the ball up court quickly and move it. He looks like more of a weapon off the ball. RIP Crushalot😞

This kid is the absolute real deal. He looked awesome again today. This kid would be great off the bench for us.
By the way the MVP of the Orlando SL so far and Nets steal---Brook Lopez Westbrook was and then had a real stinker today. No one can stop Brook too skilled to big and much better on the D than people think. RIP Crushalot😞

Posted by BRIGGS: Briggs, I'd be cautiously optimistic with Brook. If theres one thing that the summer league lacks, it's talented big men, so any big man lotto pick should perform well in the summer league. I'm not trying to say I don't think Lopez is any good, I think he has some nice skills offensively, but I wouldn't use the summer league to prove it.
