I still think the kid can play....... But he never got a good chance... Is he a goner for sure? Maybe D'Antoni will give him a chance?

I don't think so. I see the following players being let go..

Dinglebury
JJ-Fat
Fred Jones
Randolph Morris
Malik Rose

Mardy should do well in a helter skelter type offense as a slasher and defender. If he can develop a shot then he can be our Raja Bell.

I think he gets another shot, but if he doesn't do much in camp this year I can't see bringing him back.

What's the point of cutting Mardy?

We only have the mid-level to sign one dude. Its not like we're going to sign five guys and need the roster space.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Fred and Morris will be gone. Probably Big game too. I can see the Knicks holding on to Marbury ONLY if they can't sign someone like Duhon.

Rose is a tradeable asset.

I think he will be a throw-in in a trade or be released prior to the season.

He was killing it for a while when he got minutes. He was injured last year, now we're going to cut him? For what? A free agent off the street that's not going to add anything anyway?

it makes sense to just keep him for 2008-2009 and see if he can play better and then not pick up his team option in 2009 if he doesn't progress.

mardy collins will no longer be affiliated with the nba within 12 months. let's not waste any more bandwidth.

That was like one week of basketball.

It was more like 2 weeks. But it just shows, when healthy, he has value and can contribute in ways no one else can on this roster(defense&passing). Collins is one of the least concerns on this roster.

Brunson had a career, why not Mardy. Who is a better guard defender on this roster? nobody. i'm not saying he fits our roster, since our coach is all about the O, but he can find a role somewhere.
