Wow. I really don't think Gilbert is worth anything near that kind of money. The most I would have given him is 6yr/75mill.

And Deron's is the maximum extension he can get, so contract for contract they're even and for the most part very comparable players. I think Gil was eligible for $124mil max contract.

Now let me ask anyone is Chris Paul worth $124+mil on the open market as a URF!?

You know at first I thought that too, but he's only 26 right now and will be 32 when his contract is up. It's really not that bad years wise. Money wise, thats another story.

He's 26 just now entering his prime not really all that old. Jordan didn't win his first chip until he was 29.

if boozer opts out next summer, he's eligible for a 6 year $126 mil deal. you think it's possible for boozer to screw over 2 teams in one lifetime?

don't think jordan sat out a year with a knee injury. also, he wasn't 6'3". man, you love those 6'3" guards.

This proves one thing---teams will be willing to over pay to retain their key players.

It's funny how our fans the past 4yrs have longed for the Cream Of The Crop 8th seed playoff spot. We're hoping to achieve mediocrity.

The contract is as crazy as Gil himself is.
-- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

Uhhhhh we surpassed it by giving contracts or trading for them where collectively they put us in the $80-100+mil cap range the past 3yrs, plus lux tax, while fans were hoping for the same results.
